Cashless banks are on the horizon next month in the UK.

https://youtu.be/gTlYmgGDvtM

>From September 11th Nat West Bank will be limiting the amount of cash that you can deposit and withdraw.

>They also have the right to refuse cash and even cheques on any basis in their new terms & conditions.

>The banks are trying to force a cashless society upon us!

I thought this would start to happen after the 2024 general election, but it appears things are moving forward faster. I don't know if this is desperation or the banks are ahead of schedule.

>In 1876, Morgan enrolled as a student at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts to prepare to create a new Liberty head design. Morgan also obtained studies from nature of the bald eagle for preparation of the reverse design. For the representation of Liberty, Morgan sought to depict an American woman rather than the usual Greek–style figures. Morgan's friend, artist Thomas Eakins, suggested he use Anna Willess Williams of Philadelphia as a model. In total, Morgan had five sittings with Williams; he declared her profile to be the most perfect he had seen.

Platinum is speculation. It can go down (fewer catalytic converters as more EVs replace ICEs), or can go up (EV production may be limited by export restrictions or absolute dearth of rare earth metals) making hydrogen fuel cells a reasonable next gen power source.

Just head in with what you’re buying in mind. Have some backup buys in case they don’t have your #1 choice.
Gold: 1/2oz maple or Britannia have good security features.
Silver: tube of the above
Spare change: mercs or other constitutional junk silver
They normally charge at ‘face value’ of the coin. So you could ask “what do you charge for $20 of 90% constitutional” and they’ll know you’re a big time knowledgable chad.

It does smell, and makes your skin stink after handling it.
It has good antibacterial properties (organisms don't live long on its surface - one reason brass railings and doorknobs in public places are popular).

I watched a video about this solar powered family SUV that can drive for months without needing to be charged but it costs too much about 250k USD. This made me think because it seems like the governments of Europe might make promises to revolutionise such green sources of energy for everyone and then make people accept a poor standard of living in order to pay lots of tax to the corrupt politicians and in the end the green projects fail and the people suffer under watermelon communism.

Then I thought, most truly productive people nowadays have office jobs because it pays more. If they were to produce things instead like cane sugar then Coca-Cola could go back to its original recipe for example. The cost of living would decrease because people would be farming more, manufacturing more and building more.

All goyim must get off the land and come and waste away in city jobs and make the world less wealthy in terms of real goods and services.

I prefer security features, they will help me sell the coins once i need fiat.

All paths seem to point to gold. The BRICS all have their own crappy fiat currencies but they will not be able to use any of them for a common currency because they cannot trust each other not to inflate. So that pushes them towards either a central governing body taking control of the currency, which will not fly because they don't really like each other or trust each other very much, or a currency hard-backed with a commodity. But only a few commodities are suitable due to lack of fungibility, spoilage, bulk, etc. And the only commodity they all have in common is gold.
So economic forces all seem to be pushing them towards a gold-backed currency.

If the BRICS combine forces to produce a uniform gold-backed currency, then the USD is going to take a huge hit, the LME will get taken off at the knees, and the exchange value of gold will soar. If the BRICS redeem in gold in a reliable way, the USA will have to issue its own gold-backed trade currency. And that will end the era of fiat.

Easy answer is gold. Banks have recently begun rerecognizing gold as money from Brenton/Woods3. I like personally like. When the gold / silver ratio (GSR) narrows to 1-20ish, then swap into gold. A more skeptical answer would be nickel. A US nickel has like 7-8c worth of metal in it. You could go to the bank grab rolls of nickels and just wait for the copper / nickel price to jump.

I’m sure dollar’s purchasing power will continue to fall. For that reason I believe metals is a good place to be. I’m not saying it’s the only or even the best place to be, but it’s about as sound as it gets. Silver specifically has seen its industrial use out pace the mine supply for the last decade. Mankind has mined a lot of silver these last 5,000 years, but to my knowledge there are no more vast stockpiles of silver. The metal in your stack represents the manpower required to dig it up, and so long as civilization exists metal will be part of it.

I looked it up. It seems that they are in fact still legal tender and you can use them though whenever a store or whatever deposits their cash to a bank, the bank removes them from circulation.

We stopped minting them in 2012 and they are entirely out of circulation now, except for people who still use them which is basically nobody. The main reason was because it cost more to produce a penny than it was worth (it cost 1.6 cents spent to produce a penny around the time we phased them out). Since nobody likes to have pennies on them, people would horde them, lose them or throw them away (or take a bunch to the bank) meaning we had less pennies in circulation, requiring us to mint more, but at a loss.

Inflation also had an impact, meaning they stopped being practical and useful for the average person.

We now round up or down when it is a purchase made of cash. If you use a card/digital payment method, then you still pay cent increments.

>Cash transactions with sums ending in 1, 2, 6 or 7 cents are rounded down; those ending in 3, 4, 8 or 9 cents are rounded up. Non-cash transactions are still denominated to the cent. The rounding is not done on individual items but on the total bill of sale.

Pennies are kind of dead-end. You have to melt them yourself, as destroying pennies for their scrap value is outlawed (in the US) and therefore commercial smelters won't. If you do it yourself, it jacks the expense (and effort) quite a bit.

Ex-NEET here now working as a help desk guy.
I could feasibly spend 100€ a month on precious metals. I know that is not a lot to most, but it's something.
How should I go about this? Any idea where to buy from if you live in eastern EU? (Hungary)
What are these supposed security features people talk about?
Should I get a safe for it?

Assuming this means local coin shop.
There is a jewelry shop that buys and sells "broken" gold or whatever, basically scraps I guess.
I'll ask them if they sell coins and these ingot type things then.
Anything to look for to make sure its real or do I just trust them on it?

I'm sure your life will be healthy and prosperous through Chinas rule over you. That is the reason why all the people want to live in China, not in the US or Europe.

I can tell that you have thought this through and no westerner can deter you from the path of being a subject of glorious Communist party rule.

>>55775539
Get your priorities straight:

1) Build an emergency fund (3 month spending, 6 if you have children)
2) Send the money you can save to another account when the monthly salary comes, live from the rest
3) Split the money, buy for 50€ FTSE DevelopedWorld ETF, let the rest accumulate until you can buy 1/4 oz gold. You pay VAT for silver, so gold is your only option. The larger the coin, the less premium over spot you pay.
I can put aside 1800€ a month, i buy ETF every two weeks for 450€, and let the rest accumulate. Once i have enough for an ounce, i buy.

But you have to have 1) under control first!

No, they will rip you off. Go to a proper coin store, offline or online doesn't matter.
You want to buy modern coins that have security features, like Maple Leaf or Britannia. 1/10 oz or 1/4 oz is probably the right amount for you.
I pay 1.4% over spot price buying a Maple Leaf 1oz. I pay 10% buying 1/2 oz. I didn't even look at the smaller coins.
The security features mean you can sell the coins for spot price. So i loose 1.5%, but with smaller coins you loose more.
If a dealer doesn't pay spot for your coins, walk away. The place where you bought the coin likely will.

Thank you very much for the general advice too.
I got 2 months worth of wages saved up, so I guess I'll wait a bit before investing. It's my first time earning my own money so yeah... not the brightest in terms of finances.
Where do you buy these ETFs? vanguardinvestor co uk is what google gives.

2) Send the money you can save to another account when the monthly salary comes, live from the rest

I'm in Germany.
In Hungary every bank should be able to purchase ETF for you, but it might cost you.
It's best to have a separate account at another bank. I have my investment and savings at ING, the account is free and so is my bimonthly ETF savings plan.

Sadly i can't automate buying physical gold though.

>>55775694
You can also buy Philharmoniker, issued by Austria, but i'm not familiar with the security features. Everyone recognizes Maple Leaf or Britannia and you can very the security yourself.
Maybe Hungary has a coin too? It doesn't matter who issues the coin, all that matters is that it is recognized by you potential future buyers.

900€ and I'll get some more soon as my trial period will be over and I'll get a work contract.
I can save up about 750€ each month because as I was a NEET for 10 years my mother isn't really taking much from me.
It's just that I was going to spend about 100€ on precious metals to mess around with it.
This is only my 3rd month on the job, so I got 1400~ saved up right now.
Pretty good for low-skill home office in my country I believe. I could make more if I went to Austria/Germany etc. as a forklift operator, but being a call center guy at home with a laptop is more comfortable.
Long term I plan to save up at least 400€ a month in a locked away manner, keep the rest liquid in case I'll need a to pay for a spine surgery.

I think you first need to ask yourself, why do you want to buy 100 euro a month of precious metals? To what end goal? If you just want to make passive income then put it into some ETFs. You're not ever going to see the day you cash out your phat stacks of metals, that's just a weird fantasy the metal stackers dream of.

If you want to invest in something you can use within your lifetime, then stocks/ETFs/bonds. Metals are what your family will sell at an estate sale for less than they're worth after you die.

Federal debt held by the public is projected to rise from 98 percent of GDP in 2023 to 118 percent in 2033—an average increase of 2 percentage points per year. Over that period, the growth of interest costs and mandatory spending outpaces the growth of revenues and the economy, driving up debt. Those factors persist beyond 2033, pushing federal debt higher still, to 195 percent of GDP in 2053.

People post anecdotes of Latin American or African countries that trade breakfast cereal for gold flakes or other commodities. they don't report the sale to the gov. People keep secrets there.

But here it's a different mindset (for now?). If you were to try to make a deal with they would run straight to the government and dob you in. They would happily swallow the government lines. They would post about traitors on social media.

I think a lot of time and suffering would have to pass beforew Westerners learn to work together like 3rd worlders. What do you think?

If the central banks can't pay off their rising debt, they will simply revalue their fiat currency against gold. This allows them to create enormous liquidity and avoid default. If you're wondering why they won't do it now, it's because the people will find out that gold is real money. This will create a craze of people swapping out their fiat money for gold as fast as possible, bringing it back into circulation which the banks do not want because it decentralizes money taking their parasitic power away.

I'm worried turd worlders put all their eggs in that basket only to find out they now get fucked by the Communist Party instead of by the USA. The USA is greedy, we know and share their motivations. But ultimately, they understand that dictatorship leads to suffering.

You turd worlders don't seem to be able to understand what it means to have the CCP boot on your neck.

In the end you will cry for help or food or both. Then you will say the USA did this and continue to have a chip on your shoulder.

>>55776561
Valid question. I for one don't share the silver will grow theory. For me gold is just a transfer of value from now to when i need money or retire to buy a boat or something. 1oz of gold is enough to life a month, that was true 2000 years ago, it's true today. I don't mind how much fiat you have to pay to get it, it will always be one month worth of goods in relation.
So 12 oz are a year not working. 20 oz are a modest car. 60 oz are a 50% down payment for a small house.
I will probably stop at 10 or 20 oz.
Putting money into other assets makes sense, i buy ETF too. It has far outperformed gold or silver and i have cashflow from some dividends too.

Thoughts on gold plated collectables? They seem like cheap easy ways of getting younger relatives into stacking via birthday gifts and shit. Find them a gold plated yugioh card or something they like such as the gold plated spongebob ingots. I know they're useless towards a stack though. Sometimes it'd just nice to have something shiny but when they cost the same as a silver 1oz, the oz is always better.

Feels good to be the best boy in town. They all think I'm great and always update me on the status of their cash registers whenever I'm in. I usually just go home and wash them with boiling water and baking soda in aluminum foil to clean off the tarnish. The one on the bottom left is from the Carribean States. Not silver, but I got it for free from one of the cashier ladies, because she didn't know what to do with it when it turned up in her till. Worst case scenario is I stack billets of PM's as cheaply as possible, best case sceanrio I start a profitable business, I'm already practcing my metal work on base metals in my spare time and researching what sells on Etsy/Ebay and how to make a good social media precence, I have contacts for a web precence and advertising/photography and I know where to get the materials I need once I've got the skills.
