Can any of you OPTIONS bros/sons help me to make sense of this data towards the goal of learning how to select strikes? These were all paper bought within about a minute total, while BOIL was $58.50, and at the moment of these values it was about $59.10. Take nootice of the non-linear progression of the values (total return percentages) across the various strikes (arranged highest to lowest). I am wanting to dip my toes into OPTIONS some but need to have a better understanding of how to select my moves before I can get over the fear and actually give it a go.

Nobody has mentioned it but what you’re looking at is mostly a change in gamma, options with a strike closest to the underlying price are most sensitive to gamma, options further in the money or out the money are less sensitive. You have to also consider the spread, if there is a wide bid/ask spread on a call the mark is going to display the middle of that spread, I would actually expect the $58 call to be marked higher but I’m assuming the spread was wide at the time this was screenshot. Possibly a holder dumping at the ask now that has calls had some intrinsic value on them.
