Compare to 2008 crash.

10 year should not have been rising in the middle of a market crash. The fact that it did was very unusual and important. It means some bond holders actually understood economics and knew money printing takes about 1.5-2 years to manifest in CPI, so they sold their long duration into it. This is what was spooking the bond market, until the Fed stepped in to conceal the problem:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CARES_Act

It will happen again, but even worse. Your hedge is not gonna work out like you think. JPow will fire up the printers for 2024, or his replacement will, and the market knows it. You done been warned, nigga.

It will spike long before the gov announces anything. Your competition is Blackrock, Vanguard, other central banks, and billionaires. They have an inside line to congress and they will sell before you.

We've also had too many of these crash -> print cycles. The market has been trained that the second-order effect of a correction is printing and inflation. It is entirely possible that TLT will crash with that broader market this time, and you will never get your panic crash in yields but instead a panic spike, and you will be just as trapped as the mumus sitting in SOXL.

Short duration bonds (less than 2y), cash, index shorts. Those are the only safe plays I see.

Not gonna happen until later in the cycle when the government promises stimulus at every slight downturn. That's when we'll see negative payroll reports cause spikes in long term yields. But first we have a deflationary recession and yield crash

I really think we're already there, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Some of the bond bulls are really dumb, but more and more of them are wising up. Even Lacy Hunt finally admitted the Fed printed money in 2020, which I never thought he would do. Now we just need Snider to capitulate.

Tfw you make a shit ton of money at work with $TUP. I keep a 9-5 to stay humble (actually I'm an architect and trading is just a hobby) so I was watching this today. It didn't go as high as I was expecting but there was a lot going on. Can't wait to see what it does Monday. I sold a lot for some profit and held on to a little bit just in case it continues its upward trend, though with their earnings report due soon I am wary of what it might do. Plus it's fucking Tupperware. They have great products but due to that, they can only sell so much because people don't replace their Tupperware constantly. I still use my grandmas old stuff rom the 1970s.

My other plays today were:

$TDS. It closed at +87.85% today which was bretty gud.

$BDRX closed at +25.49%. I hate biotech because most of them are awful and take years to get anywhere, but for some easy mode day trading they can be nice.

$AAOI closed at +67.07% so I made a bit there.

$USM closed at +92.91% but I haven't sold any of it as most analysists are giving it a hold rating.

$DFH closed at +26.90%. Didn't sell because I forgot about it so hopefully it's steady next week. It's related to real estate so...kinda sketchy to hold on to that given the fucked up housing market right now.

Qualcomm: B. Qualcomm reported a 16% year-over-year increase in revenue for Q3 2023, driven by growth in its Embedded and Data Center segments, which include its AI products and services1. However, its handset chip sales, which account for the majority of its revenue, declined 25% year-over-year due to the weak smartphone market1. Qualcomm expects its AI revenue to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25% from 2021 to 2026, reaching $20.8 billion in 20262. This implies that Qualcomm is confident in its ability to leverage its on-device AI leadership, its hybrid AI architecture, and its 5G connectivity to enable new intuitive experiences and interactions for consumers and businesses. However, Qualcomm faces intense competition from other chipmakers, such as Nvidia and MediaTek, in the AI and 5G markets, which could limit its growth potential.
AMD: A. AMD reported a 16% year-over-year increase in revenue for Q4 2022, driven by strong demand for its CPU and GPU products across various segments, including data center, gaming, PC, and cloud2. AMD’s data center revenue, which includes its AI products and services, grew at a CAGR of 30% from 2020 to 2025, reaching $9.2 billion in 20253. This indicates that AMD is successfully competing with Nvidia and Intel in the data center and cloud market, as well as innovating and scaling its AI solutions for PCs, gaming, and other segments. AMD has a broad roadmap of high-performance and energy-efficient products for AI training and inference from the cloud to the edge to endpoints4, which could enable it to capture more market share and revenue in the future.

Today literally confirmed all the technicals are set up for a correction. QQQ closed under 371.53 meaning it's now primed to dump all the way to 363 at least. No potential positive catalysts in the horizon, more fed hikes are incoming, economic data won't give you anything to hold on to as you see the numbers slip across the board.
TSLA is fucked. MSFT is bleeding, APPL is bleeding. Amazon won't be able to sustain the gains for much longer when it's surrounded by a burning market, just like Google.
Hope you booked your profits when you had the chance, if not, pray for a dead cat bounce and get out ASAP.

2008 still happened. The difference is that there is no clear unequilibrium except on small things like the crypto bubble. Growth has been slow and steady for over a decade and things look to be the same for the forseeable future unless some retard tries to apply harsh austerity measures

Brah just like all humongous corporate entities they write that shit off as a loss while they rake in mountains of cash from other things like streaming services or licensing. A chunk of that $157M is probably "travel expenses" to exotic places and fancy clothes and dumb shit.

I think the financial sector has colluded well enough with the political sector at this point to avoid things like 2008. We've seen it happen multiple times since the pandemic, they just come up with some new rule literally overnight and make shit disappear

Yeah I only just heard about it yesterday. Theyve had a problem with advertising because everyone pays for streaming services without adds, thats why theyre launching a disney+ with adds.
