Is it just me or is no one else feeling the lower inflation yet? I mean all the numbers say that the economy is recovering and inflation is falling but I'm just not seeing it in the real world yet. Anyone else?

Let’s do a little experiment.

I have $1
It increases by 10%
I now have $1.10
It increases by 3%
I now have $1.13

We just have low inflation on top of the high inflation we just had. It’s only going to get worse.

No because you are still thinking in concrete terms. What they mean is the rate of infaltion has slowed not real inflation. Inflation is still happening but just at a slower rate.

Prices are still going up just more slowly. Inflation doesn't work by magically being at 5 dollars yesterday and 10 dollars today. It's constantly going up or down. If we want prices to come down we need a negative inflationary rate which we need Paul Vulkner to rise from his grave to achieve.

So let me get this straight:
Inflation gets astronomically high under Biden, and shitlibs scramble to argue that it's not his fault because the president doesn't control it.
Then inflation continues to happen under Biden (but slightly less than before), and shitlibs thank Biden?

>Orange man and sleepy Joe are just scapegoats for the public to blame when things go to shit.
Yeah, but when things went to shit under Orange Man and GWB, the media and social media never hesitated to blame them both.
I'm not retarded, hence I remember the countless news articles during 2000-2008 and 2016-2020 (respectively) which painted an apocalyptic scenario over high gas prices under those two GOP presidents.
I remember gas being $2 a gallon under Bush, and people were ready to bring out the guillotines.
Now things are objectively far worse under Pedo Pete, and the media spin is:
>actually, the economy is booming!
>blame the war in Ukraine!
>the president doesn't control gas or food prices (unless he's a Republican) -- but the president is responsible for making those prices cheaper somehow!
>tired of paying too much for gas and groceries? You're probably racist/sexist/transphobic!
Look at plebbit of all places if you dare: they refuse to admit the economy is bad, and if you viewed threads from circa 2022 there were a ton of wagie cope rants about those "I did that!" stickers on gas pumps.
If gas was $7 a gallon under Trump, there would be Capitol riots, and shitlibs would actively promote websites to order packs of "I did that!" Trump stickers to place on gas pumps.
Faggots like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel would even have sketches on their gay shows encourage placing those stickers.
It's not my point of view, it's a FACT, and you know that it's true.

No.
If we predicted 9% inflation and we only inflated by 3% that is still inflation of 3%.
If I have a a balloon that is inflated already 10% and let's say that I say I am going to inflate it 9%.
The balloon was already inflated 10% of its volume but insted of 9% I only inflate it 3%

The balloon still inflated 3% on top of the already existing 10%. You would need negative rates of inflation to go under the already existing 10% inflation.

Think of it with the running man analogy.
Imagine a man is running on a track: we'll name this man "Inflation".
The man is running, but when he reaches the 2020 checkpoint on the track, he speeds up.
He reaches the 2021 checkpoint and goes really fast.
He reaches the 2022, and speeds the fuck up: we're talking Olympic, Usain Bolt sprinting.
Then he reaches the 2023 checkpoint and starts to slow down a bit, to the point where's currently jogging at an even pace.
But the key takeaway here is that he's still moving -- fast -- and isn't stopping.
Sure, he's not running as fast as he did at the 2022 checkpoint, but he's still moving fast in the same direction.
>is he slowing down?
Kind of yeah.
>is he stopping?
No.
>is he walking backwards or turning around, heading back to the starting line?
Of course not.
He's still moving -- and running pretty damn fast -- but just not as fast as at the 2022 mark when be moved really fucking fast and traveled in a short amount of time.
As for OP's picrel, shitlibs are smugly saying, "HA! See, the running man isn't running as fast as 2022 when he ran really fucking fast, and he's getting slightly slower now (albeit continuing to run)! Take that, MAGAtard chuds!"
Unless the running man stops completely and turns back around, don't expect anything to get cheaper.

An inflation rate is quite literally a "how bad it's getting" meter.

Prices have increased. Businesses will not lower prices for most items now. The issue is being able to afford these items. So, people demand higher wages and threaten to strike, or they simply find better paying jobs. If you are not trying to find a better paying job, then you lose. Businesses also lose if they cannot remain competitive with keeping wages low.

There will be no "collapse" the way some of these people think of it. It's not going to be like the movie "Dawn of the Dead" or whatever where one day suddenly shit hits the fan and prices skyrocket and everyone begins to riot and the SS comes marching down the street to kill everyone. There will be no "happening." It's far more insidious than that. Read the poem "The Hollow Men" by TS Eliot and you'll understand.

You'll just notice that every day simple things will become a little more expensive. Everyone's homes and apartments will start to get smaller. Your work hours will get longer, but your pay will decrease. You'll see family and friends less, and find that in time you care less about them. Every day you'll find yourself lowering your standards for everything: work, food, relationships, etc. Job security will no longer exist as a concept. You'll notice houses and apartments shrinking. People will start hanging on to clothing longer and longer. Less people will get married, even less will have children. People will engross themselves in technological distractions and fantasy while never truly experiencing the real world.

Whatever dream people used to have about what their lives were going to be will become for them a distant memory. The only thing left for them will be the reality of their debt and their poverty. And every minute of every day they will be told, "You are stupid, ugly, and weak, but together we are free, prosperous, and safe."

That is the collapse. The reduction of the American man into a feudal serf, incapable of feeling love or hate, incapable of seeing the pitiful nature of his situation for what it is or recognizing his own self worth.
