In what way would it change your life?
Unless you have a subsistence income (or less) and just having a financial cushion would make a tremendous difference in your day to day sense of stability, I can't think of too much it would change. Unless you don't have a car. But most of the major differences, in my mind, are about having sufficient income, not about having the lump sum of cash (until the lump becomes sufficiently big).
