So my co-worker thought it was a good idea to stand up, lean over the boss' desk and pound his fist on it saying "I KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY WE MAKE AND I KNOW YOU CAN AFFORD TO GIVE ME A RAISE". That's basically how most jobs are now minus the drinking. Outside of the do nothing tech sector, most employers are so desperate that they let a lot of shit slide. My friend works at sam's club and he says some employees routinely will just leave for hours at a time and come back later like nothing happened and still don't get fired for it. Naturally because of this the business is suffering severely and if they don't fix their problems that location will likely close so it is what it is. At the business I work for I routinely saw one guy on the night shift wonder around drunk as fuck. Never got fired, and ended up quitting. After he was gone I went to one of his coworkers and told him "you know that guy was fucking hammered all the time right?" and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "he did good work" which made me chuckle. The workplace environment lost cabin pressure a long time ago

(can't do construction without gasoline, can't commute to work without gasoline, can't transport XYZ product without gasoline)
This is bearish, as it will result in more aggressive monetary policy. We had the benefit of energy commodities falling for the last 6 months, now they are rising again, while services remain sticky

Look at the reversal. Look closely. I even aligned DXY, SPY, and JPY all in one convenient chart for your retarded ass.

No one gives a shit about the makeup of the DXY.
I can look at the USD/JPY pair directly and see how the pair performs, as I have. However, even the 13% weighting was enough to tank the DXY below it's daily peak, showing yet again that JPY is the real commonality factor in this afternoon selloff. You can also look at the USD/EUR pair directly, by the way.

There is no "we" here. This is what actually happened and I am commenting on it. You unfortunately are off in your own universe, desperate for your schizo delusions to come true.

>The reversal aligned with a JPY move
No. Look at the chart. Look at when the high of the day was.
This was the ECB decision that broke the uptrend.
Did the BOJ cause the 1:00 move?
No - also not true, the initial move at 1:00 was due to the failure of the 7yr treasury auction; then, after that, BOJ announcement added fuel to the fire
We were already downtrending long before that
>This is what actually happened and I am commenting on it
You're retarded and extremely conceited and full of yourself for being so incorrect

Here is why we dumped:
early this morning, the ECB announced a much less hawkish monetary policy stance. Currencies move based upon projected interest rates - a less hawkish ECB made the euro fall. Long euro / short dollar was probably the most crowded trade in the market by a mile - everybody is in this trade, big leveraged bets. Everyone has assumed that the ECB would have to be much more aggressive to contain inflation in EU than in the US - being more aggressive relative to the US = euro gain vs dollar. This was seen almost as a sure thing, that the dollar would continue to fall, huge bets that it would continue to fall. Today a big nail was smacked into this thesis by the ECB - this made the euro fall, dollar rise sharply. This immediately put pressure on stocks.
Then, later in the day, at 1:00pm the Treasury held an auction for 7 year bonds. This bond auction went terribly, and basically revealed to the bond market that the emperor is not wearing any clothes, that nobody wanted to buy the bonds. This also helped to push yields sharply higher (along with positive US economic data in the morning which also pushed yields higher)
then, on top of all this, the central bank of Japan (BOJ) announced that they will be potentially ending a decades long policy of yield curve control, which basically has meant that the Bank of Japan for decades has been pumping up the value of bonds, big buyer of bonds, basically just bleeding money into the markets for decades, and that this liquidity was going to come to an end; higher interest rates also affecting their economy - but the bigger impact on the markets is that the BOJ would no longer be intervening, would no longer need to be buying assets to continue YCC
Triple whammy, dollar rising sharply, rates rising sharply, liquidity drain by BOJ

The short yen trade is at risk. Huge carry trade borrowing yen at 0% while the currency simultaneously weakens in order to fund more USD and Euro bonds/stocks.

In response, some of those paired longs are being closed out. Yields are rising. Buying bonds is cheaper. Stocks going risk-off because they compete with bonds for capital.

Or, if you're schizo, you can blame it on whatever you want like some Euro weakness that everyone with a brain already knew was coming as we head back into fall/winter. I'd recommend ignoring schizo takes though. It'll cost you greatly in the long run.

Alright lads lets do this, what are your plays for today's and tomorrow BMO's earnings?
>Intel
Green might be possible, but idk
>Enphase energy
Increased shipment of microinverters and batteries, consensus EPS seems a bit high, but the last 3 eps actuals surpassed the estimates easily.
>Roku
Seems like Cathie Wood's Ark Invest likes Roku. According to Ark price per share can reach 605 usd by 2026. Last 4 eps were mixed though and today's almost -5% seems like as if people left while they can. or I'm just wrong.
>Procter & gamble
I'll just add this text:
Global consumer products maker Procter & Gamble dropped its pledge from a corporate policy to not buy wood pulp from degraded forests, a company executive disclosed to investors in a previously-unreported July 18 briefing.
The change drew the ire of several P&G investors. One of the world's major purchasers of pulp for consumer goods, the Cincinnati-based purveyor of Charmin toilet paper, Bounty paper towels and Puffs tissues, buys the wood product from suppliers in Latin America, Europe, Canada and the U.S., according to data on its website.
"In an era where companies are moving forward on climate risk," the change marks a "step backward," Leslie Samuelrich, the president of P&G investor Green Century Funds, told Reuters.
