Question.

I was watching the new yield trap stock drop today $Amzy and it was pretty flat all day. $20-20.10. After hours it has increased to over $21 but the volume is pretty low.

Only 1 stock sold there then 200. It’s mostly under 10. Who the fuck buys 1 share after hours.

Could they be buying and selling the stock amongst each other to pump the price for tomorrow?

You might could reasonably safely put a limit order on BOIL for say $63 and then a limit sell for maybe $70 and it probably work within a few weeks or months. You could do a good bit better than that almost guaranteed if you had time to watch and wait for a better entry and exit both, but that *should* be a reasonably safe range to more or less assuredly accomplish. Maybe. Hopefully. Probably. Perhaps. I mean, shit, I figure we're pretty likely to see at least down to $60 again if not a good degree lower, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see it reach $80 or more, who knows, maybe even $100 by sometime in October (which should be the peak due to being on the Jan contract that month), but for set and forget, the range I gave SHOULD be pretty close to guaranteed free money. SHOULD. Natgas is a wild bucking bronco and is the only trade known as...
THA
WIDOWMAKAH
If you wanted to risk getting a better buy in but *maybe* not getting a fill (but I personally think it will see it and a little lower at some point soonish), you could try an entry of limit order $60, and if you wanted to get a bit riskier on the sell point go $75. I'll be surprised if there's not at least a touch on $80 by Oct, but I'm trying to be as conservative as possible with your capital and making sure you extract a gain. I would argue same thing with jobs data. Last year jobs data was important because it was an indicator of what the fed hikes were going to be during a time where full basis point hikes were on the table. Now it's more known what the fed is going to do and the jobs data doesn't really mean anything anymore. Charts say go down at some point. SPY $440, but idk when

I realized today that QT and rate hikes are actually a form of QE. Megacaps have long term debt secured at low rates, and now they get 5.5% on their cash. Rate hikes are stimulating the tech bubble. Also, QT and rate hikes keep mortgage rates elevated, which means people who locked in cheap mortgages will never sell their house. This combined with a housing shortage keeps housing prices moving higher.
QT and rate hikes are like a plug holding in the water from a huge barrel. It's gonna mess with people's heads but the moment QT and rate hikes end the whole show will end and the bubble will burst. But as long as growth remains strong the Fed will keep QT/rate hikes going, prolonging the melt-up forever

It's going to take years these rate hikes to affect the economy. And when they do it's over, this cycle will end. Deflation will cause the Fed to cut rates to zero and start QE. This will cause the housing market to crash because of low rate mortgage homeowners looking to sell their house.
Just as QT/rate hikes are now inflating risk assets, QE/ZIRP will cause deflation. Everything we thought we know about macro economics will flip

Nothing wrong with getting 5.5% on your cash. Holding treasuries or a MMF with a hawkish Fed during an inflation rebound is a good idea. It only hurts when the Fed is dovish like in 2021. In 2021 we had high inflation but low rates, so cash had a negative return. But now in 2023 the yield from a MMF will exceed inflation

First the Fed dropped rates to zero and let megacaps take out huge loans with very low rates. i thought the snap (ticker:snap) earnings were a lot better than what the tv people said. 400m mau is nothing to sneeze at and they beat revenues, not to mention 150m ai chatbot users and growth of discovery. i am sad my net worth will go down tomorrow but on the other hand, i know where i'll be allocating extra cash for the time being.

It'll take years to get back what I lost. But I have the time and bankroll to do it if that's really what I want to do. Lotta a trading days left in my life God willing. That could be a good or a bad thing. If I'm being objective, I now have data to prove my strategy works assuming I keep to the strategy, which yoloing 50% of the portfolio on a 2000 lot of SPY weeklies is explicitly breaking my position size rule. The saddest part is I was outside running and missed my chance to unload that 2000 lot for minimal damage. I placed an AON sell to close order and went outside and didn't get filled. I coulda fiddled around and gotten filled but was outside instead. It's the same lesson over and over.

Finally got it, eh m8? Large caps were always gonna be fine, especially the big tech. The big tech is too essential for the entirety of the US to retain their edge in the global tech war.
They got ZIRP and the "high" rates fugg over smaller caps... just look at all these earnings m8. MSFT, Texas, Google, and so on. Utterly unaffected (or barely so) by the rates and they just keep on chugging and earning more and more (inflation is bullish after all and with high CPI and low PPI it is very much understandable why their profits keep going up).
This is almost too easy

Yes, it will be above 3%. And Powell will be forced to hike in September too. Cause when Oil stays here or goes higher, the following CPI will be worse since August and September 2022 Oil was way cheaper than June.

And rates will stay high for long. As long as this oil market doesn't get sorted and coolsdown, he is forced to keep rates high. If he lowers them Oil explodes to +85-90.

The problem is, I think even US oil companies are lowering production, not just the EVIL Saudis/OPEC.

>Happy Fed day to all who observe. Market expectations are for a quarter-point rate hike from the Federal Open Market Committee, and some weaselly language pointing to the possibility of future rate hikes but not committing to them.

>The one thing you won't hear Fed Chair Jerome Powell discuss on Wednesday is the money supply. Money supply went out of fashion as a way to forecast future inflation when its changing stopped moving in tandem with GDP growth and inflation, but the huge surge ahead of the current run-up in prices has given monetarists some new life.

>Scott Grannis, the long-time chief economist at Western Asset Management who now authors the Calafia Beach Pundit blog, put together a chart, recreated here, showing how the M2 measure of money supply leads inflation, with a roughly one-year lag.

>"The chart strongly suggests that the CPI is on its way to zero over the next 6-9 months. As such, it's reasonable to conclude that the Fed has acted appropriately, if belatedly, and no further tightening is therefore necessary; lower inflation is 'baked in the cake' at this point," he says.
