How did you break in and what do you do? I (almost) have my CS degree with a focus in cybersecurity but currently work in DevOps and play CTFs in my free time

Pretty much same as you. Being good at programming helps. I just did a bunch of CTFs, placed very well, and networked with lots of people in the industry. Just do well in competitions and make some friends in the right places and you'll do well.

As for work, I mainly do reverse engineering and security research. I kinda hate it though and feel super burned out. It's easy to just coast by and collect paychecks if that's what you want.
