Average height men reproduce more than tall or short men and their reporductive careers are longer.
I say this as a fucking 5'1" manlet.
I might pay to be smarter, more aerobically efficient, and more protein assimilatory. But hard work and training will probably beat any minor gain you could give me through experimental gene therapy.
I WILL pay for my offspring to be all of the above, and more aligned to the golden ratio, IF i know and trust who is fucking with those genes, or if there is a trustless system for gene editing, and the alterations have been well tested.
