How did your friends/family react after they found out that you made it?

>> No.55626867

I didn't even "make it"

This don't tell to anyone, keep the low profile, and if someone ask how you make money, just say, I got an online job

I made a decent amount and my family has been kinda annoying about it (my dad and uncle who my dad told for some dumb ass reason) and I just gave them all a theater acting performance of how I lost it all and now im broke again and how i'll never make that kind of money again and im super demoralized. than a couple of months later i basically told my parents I had a couple hundred $$$ in total assets in crypto left so everyone now thinks im broke and the whole he made it is over. now I can sit on my stack (its nothing just 75k) and work on building my funds while everyone things im sad and depressed and mopey over losing 75k. whatever

Almost 8 figures here.

father seemed proud of me for the first time in my life. Even though I have a pretty advanced stem degree he never appreciated at all, never took an interest in my studies.

mother became basically a fangirl. this was the most shocking. I didn't expect my own mother's behavior to change in a very similar way to the women at the club when they sense you got cash. And yes they ask for money not often directly but the asks and the implied requests and the connotations are all there and constant nudges are all there.

My wife had the most positive response because she saw me struggle since we met. I had nothing when we met had just quit my job to start a business. She was never impressed by money though her family is loaded and her dad is a boss so she was one of those trust fund girls who dates broke dudes for fun or whatever. I honestly just needed a gf at the time to split my drug bills with lmao. Now we're married with kids.

My friends don't really know I kept it pretty tight inside the family. I know it would be bad if they knew. I still act the same way and drive a cheap subaru. They make comments sometimes about my big house and I just explain how I got a cheap mortgage.

making it was such a mixed blessing man. I made it and I was like ok. now. I guess I start going to the gym like i promised myself I would when i had more time 8 years ago. I feel tired now in my mid 30s... i'd honestly give half my nw to go back and live 1 year in my 20s again.

Ironically the thing im most proud of in my life is the fact that I actually built a business that delivered good products at good prices and people thanked me for it. that;s it the money is kinda bullshit desu

no one gets free handouts other than maybe my mother so I would only tell her how much I truly have
everyone else in family and friends I would only tell them I only made like 150k or some other small amount

This. The first thing I did when I made my first big profit was write my mother a cheque. She gets whatever she wants, within reason. She doesn't exactly know what my balance sheet looks like but she knows enough to be comfortable with letting me take care of her

My business is just hitting the 1M revenue mark and likely to be doing 2M next year, hitting 30 in a month or so and this is honestly how I imagine it will play out.

Parents got burned hard with business but they are grateful for building a normal life after having nothing really to show at 50 so they aren't materialistic, same with sister so I don't think they'll be coming cap in hand.

Need to sort the gf thing out, manage to keep friends despite spending half a decade working every day but my romantic life is non existant. And can feel the start of health slipping so that also needs looking at.

Got any advice, especially for partners/kids/etc.? I don't even care that much about money but I'm stuck living the life of someone that does.

yeah when I make it going to tell her to sell the shitbox we're living in now and to look for a better house in a nicer side of town and I'll pay the balance
can't wait desu bags are set for the next bullmarket and hopefully it comes soon.

so easy to pretend you lost or spent the money once you get it lol every faggot just WISHES their fortunate friends lose their gifts. i feel like ppl who get robbed are usually (obviously not all the time) weird inferior genetics who have to wear fancy rings and shit and treat the waitstaff poorly

It really was.. I just had to kinda ham up being upset about it and everyone was all oh it'll be ok man you'll make the money again it'll be fine. like muahahha it worked. I was worried they wouldnt buy it (and im sure a few didnt) but nobody brings up crypto anymore and if they do they just go oh it'll coime back later hold on to what you have tight. My one neighbor also knows I do crypto but he thinks I only have like $300 in it and he rather buy etf/dividends and land (which he has in the area)

My friend who got rugged with a pepe alt scam got mad at me when i made 150k with pepe. I told him it would moon again and he called me a scammer.
Don't give people financial advice, it can ruin your friendships
