Nah, that's not even enough to survive without working. With the current mortgage rates you'd need to take out 1.2 million of that to buy, fix, and furnish a house in cash. Leaving you with 800k for traditional investing. Conservatively living off of 4% per year would mean $32k a year, a poverty amount. No vacations, Mac and cheese for lunch and dinner, no gf, etc.
4 million is the floor of what you need. Sorry you had to hear this from me.
