>houses are super expensive
>rates are 5%
>there's no way to buy and rent it and make money, just hope for price appreciation while you lose money on monthly mortgage payments because rent doesn't pay the mortgage
>rates are locked forever, so if you bought you don't care if they raise them more
>just wait 5 years maybe rates will go down and the real estate stagnation will end
pick one

currently the problem is supply, not interest rates
supply of homes for sale is at an absolute historic low
>2018: 1.3-1.6 million homes for sale
>2023: 03.-0.6 million homes for sale
there are many reasons for the short supply. the largest is importing 7 million people per year to the US
will the supply ever go back to "normal" ?
probably. but it will take a long time. maybe a decade

The problem is how those houses are distributed. Old houses are under 70k all across bumfuck nowhere medium sized towns in the midwest or deep south. Every post-millennial wants to live in LA or NYC no shit there's gonna be scarcity.

No those houses are 200k too now. I bought a house for 65k in 2015 and just sold it for 230k. I'm just going to rent for now.

>> No.55609200

I inherited a multi-million dollars house in the city from my 90 year old grandparents, its a 100 year old house, but the land is worth MILLIONS due to the location of it being a popular metropolitan city.

The house is extremely well built, in that it stays cool in the summer, and stays warm in the winter, not sure how that makes sense, I think its triple-bricked or something.

That said, I cant afford to knock it down and build a new house on it, so what should I do?

Its livable but its def needing to be knocked down. My grandparents had the bathroom and toilets re-done a few years ago so thats the only modern parts of the house.

by "they" I assume you mean brown immigrants and swarthy hybrids
that is the only type buying anything in metro areas except for boomer/jewish multimillionaires, their trust fund children, and homosexual SV techtrannies

no normal, white person wants to go anywhere near metros anymore, aside from the fact that they cannot possibly afford it

Depends on the metro area and the part of the metro area. I'm south of Nashville and everyone buying/moving here is white. This is a fun site to play around with:

Collecting neetbux. Saving up for a house soon to rent out. I need $10,000 and I am saving $2000/month. And OP is struggling to buy a house. Feels good.

Millennials who bought in the 2010s are doing fine. Those who refinanced in 2021 are doing great.

Zoomers are screwed, but they're a trash generation like their parents who won't do shit so who cares.

Just move to Detroit bro, and start a real estate company.
Gerrymander the shit out of the negro, and hire PMCs to protect neighborhood. Instant profit.
