In their defense, there are reasons for them to doubt. No crypto has really had any utility despite all the claims of the techbros and techvangelists about how crypto is going to change everything. After a couple of years of that, and everyone knowing someone who took a bath on crypto, it's easy to miss the signal in the noise.

There have been tons of articles about how XRP has been purchased, found useful for, favorable by this government or that bank or the other, but nothing has happened yet. So again its easy to just see that as smoke and speculation.

Likewise, the XRP community is dogshit. Crypto communities are bad in general, but the schizo stuff is very offputting to most people. I've been following this for years, I'm used to image board culture, and even so it's hard to be in these threads sometimes. Some of the posters in here are just fucking insufferable, and the signal to noise ratio isn't great in here.

But there is signal in the noise.

I'm hopeful for XRP for personal reasons even if I'm hesitant for macro-reasons. KYC makes sense, but it's a step toward greater control by the people in charge and I'm distrustful of that.
