DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND HOW HUGE THIS IS?

chainlink revenue for ONE DAY of CCIP transactions is equal to almost 0.2% of the dumps Sergey took in 2021!

Do I need to do the math?? That means in less than 1400 years from today, Chainlink will be profitable!

Um no sweatie $3507 every day for a year is about $1.28m. If you compare to treasury bonds which have a rate of 3-4%, say 4%, then that means chainlinks market cap only needs to fall to $32m for this revenue to be 4% of the market cap and match the yield from buying bonds. And that means as soon as chainlink goes farther down, say to $30m, this will be even more yield than bonds give.

One of these days the bagholders wont buy sergeys dumps and then you will have the death spiral to 0. I suggest you to be sitting in a chair before the music stops.

Profit is the leftover revenue after expenses, and chainlink is deeply in the red, they make no money for their services while they have a very expensive and bloated team of hr roasties and african WFH devs. They have to dump nonstop to pay them. But its a death spiral because due to them dumping they get less money for each link creating a negative feedback loop. Thats why every other coin has had a recovery while link is stuck flat.

You're leaving out that the $3507 would be split 1 billion times evenly between every token. So the real return is 0.000003507% per token. This is why Chainlink has to subsidize everything by dumping more tokens. The network isn't profitable and has a built-in timeline to scam retail.

>cumulative revenue is 20k per day and growing
>cumulative revenue is ... growing
You are misinterpreting the word cumulative in this context.
"Cumulative revenue" in this dashboard shows "revenue since inception", so it can only stay flat or go up. So the fact that it is growing is meaningless, what's important is how fast it grows (aka, how much daily revenue there is).

>cumulative revenue is 20k per day and growing
>cumulative revenue is 20k per day
So, when the stat shows around 20k of cumulative revenue (It's actually closer to $25k, but his dune dashboard isn't adding up polygon revenue correctly) it just means that *since the beginning of available data*, the total revenue has been $25k. The only "per day" thing here is how often a new bar is drawn.

Look at the 13th, 16th, 17th and 18th.
Those were days with zero polygon revenue, therefore the orange bar should be the same size as it was before, but for some reason the number goes to zero, which is incorrect.

It's not fud.
Add the numbers up, you'll see that the orange sections going to zero on the 13, 16, 17 and 18 are a glitch.

You *are* missing something.

The revenue number is nice to have (it's the most we'll have), and fun to play with but there is no way of knowing what percentage of that revenue is actually profit, and how much of it is cost.
Why is that relevant?
Because most running costs (electricity, computing, etc) cannot be paid in LINK. So a portion of revenue NEEDS to be sold in order to cover costs. We don't know which portion. Hopefully it's a small one, but we can only speculate. So this revenue number needs to be multiplied by an unknown factor (<1) in order to get to the actual number of LINK being "made" by chainlink.

Not sure how else they fund the roasties but this was based on comparing revenue to the 2021 dump total. I don’t know how the money from the dumping was used, but I assume it was mostly to fund the company, unless that was all VC funding and the dumping was just to feed sergey? But many companies are not profitable in the early stages, just look at Uber. Whether they can turn a profit later depends on adoption, but if it’s doing this wel right now, it seems like a sure thing to me

I have to agree the reaction post-CCIP seems to have swung the needle away from LINK baggies being the ones with unreasonably biased takes. CCIP can't really be seen as anything other than a boon for the industry. Unlike others, I do simply attribute this to the pisspoor price action, but nonetheless it's quite telling how shamelessly the fud evolves states. Even when they deliver something undeniably impressive, fundamentally important, token needed, it's not good enough because no "singularity" occurred. In some ways, I think 2017 set things up to fail where LINK didn't stick the landing in the top 5 after a cycle.

Is it worth reading anything into these stats at all on a testnet where the fees etc. are likely set at a unrealistic rate (as it's simply a test system) and where we have no idea what the volume would be in production?

Even when the public test net goes live wouldn't that be the same?
