The sec suing Ripple was a shake out for the institutional investors who Ripple sold to early, to suppress price for other entities to accumulate.

It is uncertain if this move by the sec was used to suppress the entire market as a whole, it could have been accidental or intentional, personally I think it was intentional, as they knew the huge influence Ripple already had in this market.

It could also be that they feared what Ripple would do to the price of bitcoin, it has recently been revealed that bitcoin was created by the nsa, it is possible that Ripple was a threat to bitcoin (the flippening) and they tried to shut them down, but it was too late and Ripple became too powerful.

Now that the big players are in place, the bull market can begin.
