Please explain how this works. I was looking at cheap stocks and there were a lot listed at 0. Some had crazy % next to them. I looked up ARYX and they shut down in March 2010 right when the price plummets. Why are they still listed and available to trade? Why are there so many 0 dollar shares

I found a company with stocks worth 0.02 and checked them out. Their company website is very dense with lots of information and decades of research and patents pending. Why is it worth 0.02? Why should I not buy thousands of shares for maybe a couple hundred dollars, so if one their products becomes successful and their share price skyrockets I would make a massive profit?

>As of early 2023, we are currently sitting at 1.3°C global warming, having just exited a cool La Nina phase and headed into: 1) a warm El Nino phase, 2) a particularly active solar maximum, and 3) continued massive reductions to sulfur pollution that provides aerosol shielding. Summer 2024 is going to be bad, worse than anything we’ve ever seen. It will shock the world. This is not hyperbole, this is not alarmism, this is the simplest expression of the current facts. Anyone with any understanding of risk assessment or precautionary planning should understand that this is not a joke.
What do I buy right now to profit from this next year?

Would someone mind explaining to me how American zoomers, who are all brown communists, are supposed to fight Russia and China in WW3, who are also brown communists? Why won't they just fight for their native nonwhite socialist countries instead? Most brown zoomers don't even think of themselves as American first. Seems like a recipe for failure, to be honest.

i'm super mad you posted that because it takes way too long to refute how dumb and problematic it is and it's so easy to just defend it because the data is presented to us so vaguely and there are so many annoying argumentative tactics to defend it but you have to be really specific and argue deftly to shut down all the annoying tricks and in the end the data itself probably has a good deal of signal to it, but no discussion of it would be fruitful because everyones definitions would differ so wildly.

WMT wagie here. I was able to review the manager's P&L statement. In our particular store, we had $940k shrink against a budget of $970k. Other stores in the region had over $1.5m+. I mentioned this a few weeks ago.
Despite that, our store is achieving a 105 index to plan, eg we achieved our budget and income goals by 5% for the year so far. Our biggest sources of loss are accidental reporting/lost time, and supplies (in particular we had power equipment we needed to replace). Looking at other parts of controllable expenses, we're doing well on wages. As a shareholder with 90 shares, I'm happy to see this.

However, as a worker, it sucks. We're getting flooded with freight and there are no slow days. Everyone is stressed. HO wants us to achieve 65% transactions on self checkout (down from 70%). This means an effective 2:1 ratio of SCO vs cashier transactions. Part of the issue is theft. One attendant monitors 4 tills and will get called away to handle a cash transaction - then the thief's partner slips out. There are a few controls we can put in place, but we aren't even allowed to check the receipt if they beep at the door. Awful.

On onhands are fucked due to the new system we implemented from HO and according to our computer training, it's working as designed - we have the product so the customer can buy it. Online sales are below target but I think this is the segment corporate wants to grow to compete with AMZN. Stuff like tablets and TVs are often $100 cheaper online despite being picked from our inventory, but we can't price match it in-store. Customers are annoyed at this.
I think their plan is to say "Hey look we moved $X million to stores this year! That means huge consumer growth and spending!"

But as you anons said, it might be normalfags trying to buy shit before their purchasing power gets fucked

I forgot to mention; we went back being department-based instead of role-based. WMT had it so that there was a front end team, a modular team, a price change team, etc. Now we're going back to departments and having agency over our own section. I think people were spread too think and work wasn't getting done in key areas.

As part of this, they were cutting hours, it's not a busy month. I saw young adults that would spend a ton of time sitting around fucking off getting dismissed (finally), and even on PT hours, I'm down to like 20h/week. However, they did offer to give me a few job codes so I can maintain more hours, since they know I'm a hard worker. This was part of my goal to establish myself before times got tough.

There's been some tech rollout/automation that's supposed to help the store. This is stuff like cameras to detect product outs on the shelf (contingent on us actually zoning stuff and stocking correctly, fucking lmao), auto order/replenishment of outs, as well as electronic shelf labels (which never fucking update) and some new backroom inventory management system called Vizpick (I haven't used it, but it seems very finnicky and prone to cataloging items in the wrong spot). My dept isn't going to use it, but the legacy system for it got slimmed down so actually adding/removing to the catalogs is a nightmare (imagine having to scan 50 items just to add 1).

>> No.55564764

>>55564738

This is all in service to cut costs, of course. Most businesses have the highest cost in labor and wages. Which makes sense - if they can add systems to eliminate jobs, that means they can increase staff wages while running a tighter budget with less man hours. Again great, I get it from a business perspective, but as a worker, it's hard and it feels like the whole thing is held together by string and tape, and our store manages to be one of the better ones. But hey, we're hitting HO's targets so it seems like we're achieving growth that we need to, so hopefully other stores do well, too.

Fun fact: Walmart and Energizer are apparently facing a class action lawsuit c. 2018. I noticed we stopped carrying Duracell and it looks like it's because Walmart allegedly strongarmed Energizer into raising their prices across the board, but then giving Walmart the lowest price. Energizer gets wider margins from everyone, Walmart gets the EDLP guarantee (and more money too).

But then on other categories, we barely make any money. Stuff like honey, I've seen $16 jars of it that we make $0.30 on. But other food items are quite profitable. Since covid, the trend has shifted to consumables and soft goods, away from hard goods. I think fashion still gives us wide margins. I'm trying to gain access to the reporting tools that management has (for legitimate business reasons, I am curious about what categories to focus on) but I don't want to deal with all the shit managers have to go through, either.

So I loaded up BOIL onto my indicators and noticed that when my triangles happened to change into an X (meaning a potential change in the yellow/blue slope from positive to negative, and thus an incoming trend change), if you went to the opposite color (green X = short, red X = long), it seems pretty decent on BOIL.
There was 5 decisive wins, 1 solid loss, and then 2-4 trades that were kinda iffy one way or the other. Like right at the end, I'm not sure if I would exist the last long entry and then go short and take like a 0.5% win into a 2% loss?, then win on the next short? Hard to tell, and I'll have other pieces to do filter bad trades.
But yeah this looks ... really good. I'm going to have to watch this now.

>>55564938
Trading reversals is so hard man, it's basically a coin flip. Basically all the advice I see is that it's better to wait for a trend to form first and confirm the direction, then hop on. Sure, you might only catch 8% of a movement instead of like 30%, but it's way safer, and mitigating losses is the biggest thing you need to do long term. Capital preservation and all that.
But hey, if you have a working strategy that bring you money already, keep doing it. Everyone trades their system differently.

So I ran the numbers and 20 simulated manual trades against BOIL starting at a random date and going for 20 executions. I did 2% risk per loss, take profit (100% position) at 1.00x ATR, and stop loss (100% position) at 1.618x ATR. A little tricky since it recently went under a reverse split and the numbers got skewed (eg weird quantities for trades, where it would've been like 5-15 shares at a time, like today)

Anyways, if you started with $10,000 you'd have ended with $10,900, about a 9.1% gain, and if you just scale it by N days, it works out to being about 12.7% annualized, a total of 20 trades and 65% win rate. It's not bad, but for the amount of swing and risk, it feels like you could easily lose a lot more if you don't execute your trades and risk perfectly. If you simply shorted BOIL for 250 days and rode out the extreme swings, it would've given you a 46% return. Yet again, buy & hold (or short & hold for these levered etfs that R/S fairly often) seems to still be the superior strategy.

This would probably be 25, 30 trades a year? Basically a trade every 2 weeks, which is manageable. If you add other TA pieces on top if this, it would remove some of the losses. And that's the big thing, if you go from 6 losses here to 4 losses, the ROI jumps to 12.6% and 17.6% annual. All of a sudden, you're a top trader if you can avoid losses and win consistently.

Traders who win trading championships over and over with triple digit yearly gains on large audited accounts are all momentum traders. Mark Minervini, Marty Schwartz, etc. all momentum guys
The problem that leads people to value investing is psychological. The need to be right with high percentage winning trades inevitably results in lots of small wins and a few huge losses that drains the account. Momentum traders don't focus on win:loss ratio, they focus on the more important maximizing gains from wins and minimizing losses. Jesse Livermore, one of the greatest momentum traders of all time hammered this lesson over and over because that's what works. Hold onto winners, cut losses quickly. You can't do that buying the dip since you are buying into downward momentum, which predicts further downward momentum
The famous market axiom is don't try to predict markets. Nobody can reliably predict imminent changes in market direction which requires a crystal ball. Systematic dip buying requires predicting changes in market direction. Why do that when you don't have to? Market has upward momentum? Buy. Downward? Sell. Why make trading harder than it needs to be. It's like playing on nightmare mode with money on the line. I'm sure it's more exciting but it's extremely unlikely to be more profitable
If all else fails just do some backtests. Momentum trading outperforms dip buying in every backtest I've seen. Naturally this is no guarantee of future returns but historical data is all you have without a time machine and the conclusions only go one way
Consider the fact that I'm an FNGU enjoyer this year. How does my account look compared to the average DIS enthusiast lately?
Lastly, be honest with yourself. Would Buffett look at your process and give you the "Value Investor" nod or would he see your chart watching and TA scratchings for the crude mockery they are and derisively laugh?

Once it's legal it's just an agriculture stock and not a high profit margin one. Also very difficult for any weed company to differentiate itself from another. They can't advertise in any way that would hit a meaningful number of consumers. Even their packaging has to be heavily toned down because of muh children. You go weed shop here in the leaf it's a few screens on the wall behind the counter and a list of what they have. When I go there I just ask the guys for a recommend of whatever happens to be good at the moment.

a results-oriented guy like you would do better on reddit, let me tell you why. on reddit you see, they give upvotes, tangible, permanent, accruable. permanent returns on your mental diarrhea, wheras here the currency is the (you), a much more abstract currency, and one which cannot be exchanged for anything nor does it confer authority when earned, indeed, it may be an indication you said something incredibly stupid.
the results are clear and undeniable: the rewards from posting on reddit are measurable and the data doesn't lie: redditors get thousands of upvotes and 4chan users have very little to show for their efforts.

Kek "momentum" can revert to the mean at any time, and it takes time and experience to figure out what's a legit breakout or not. You haven't backtested over enough sample size if you think it's not still a 50/50 coin flip. You still have to make the right decision and could easily get trapped on a fake breakout.
Under your logic I could just short /ES every time there's a big hard red candle down and always make money. It doesn't work like that, it takes discernment.

The explosive ticket sales for Swift's concerts have provided a significant boost to the national tourism industry, according to the latest report from the Federal Reserve.

>The Federal Reserve's Beige Book, a compilation of economic summaries from different regions of the country, revealed that Philadelphia's hotel bookings experienced their strongest growth since the pandemic began, all thanks to Swift's show dates.

>The report states, "Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city."

AI replacing code monkeys is insanely overblown and not going to happen for a decade+ unless you’re literally just writing configs or simple scripts all day. I highly doubt even web engineers will see AI replace them for quite some time for enterprise complexity level work. Still, it’s a good idea to be cognizant of it and plan for it in the future.

As long as we stay around 450 and don’t blast through any other resistances, this bitch is still coming back down at some point imo. Won’t stop WSJ and all the other financial “news” outlets from running stories over the next couple months acting like the soft landing has been achieved.

To be fair, she also said Taylor played for legit 3.5-4 hours, which in this day and age is genuinely unheard of, most headliners play 2 hours at the absolute max. 1-1.5 hours is more usual at concerts I’ve been to

I remember about 10 years ago there was this ABC News investigation out of San Francisco where they were following a SFPD sex crimes task force. The head of it was a lesbian and the others on this were all gay men or other lesbians. The lesbian running the task force said "we look to see where white men go and then move in" and I never forgot that. As for dating ever since the internet came into play and a woman can feed her dopamine rush from thousands of simps telling her how hot she is they no longer need anything. Uncle Sam provides the money and simps provide all the dopamine they need. Its a fools game now.

I had assumed because prostitution was illegal and often demonized in movies that the prevailing belief among my peers was that visiting a prostitute was highly immoral. (I live in a mid-sized, center-left city in the US South)
However, with all the sex-positive, "Sex work is real work" stuff I saw people post about online and on facebook and shit, I started to think "Maybe prostitution isn't viewed as poorly as I thought". I asked a couple friends in a theoretical sense, "Is visiting a prostitute immoral?" and my 3 friends (including 1 girl) were like "Nah as long as she's not being trafficked prostitution isn't really wrong".
Still, I feel like if a woman found out you went to visit a prostitute she'd be much less interested in dating you. But sex is a very natural need - people arent shamed for eating at restaurants instead of cooking at home, so why should it be wrong to pay for sex if you cant/dont want to date?
Hell, even Jesus washed a prostitute's feet.

I'm still trying to figure this out. Saying "Sex work is real work" but then demonizing people who pay for sex work seems like some clown bullshit. I'm a moderate lefty but I doubt my fellow lefties would be welcoming of me paying for a blowie. Regardless I'm nervous to go to an escort or an AMP because there was a recent bust of a few massage parlors in my city and I dont want to be caught up in that. They only arrested the providers, not any johns, but still.

A retarded take. If the porn idustry is fine, the film industry is fine, mobiles are fine, and the fashion industry is fine, sex work is fine and the hypocrites who care to mentally acrobat their way through the morality aren't datable.
There's a big difference between a loser who picks up addicted streetwalkers and someone who pays for higher class experiences.
Besides, the current trend of ethottism and simping is just as predatory.

Yeah, I'm abnormal and emotionally fragile. I've been avoiding dating for many years because of these characteristics. A partner sounds nice but not sure if it's in the cards for me.
Well anyway I dont want to blogpost about my feelings, because feelings are not relevant to discussion of the stock market... unlike prostitutes and weed, which ARE potentially relevant. What is the bottom for MSOS? Will it ever go up again?

Have you studied the charts on all of the major crashes going back to 1987 so you can see what it looks like all the way down? It might take a good bit of time, and there will be lots of times where it looks like the bottom but isn't. I made and shared charts on all of them here a while back and hardly any of these niggertards cared, I made 2 charts for each crash, 1) spanning from immediately before the peak that was crashed from, to immediately following the very bottom, and 2) one from immediately before the peak that was crashed from, to the next time the markets reached that peak again and continued to grow from there (this is important because from 2000 to 2013 the markets briefly reached the earlier peak in 2008 before immediately crashing again, so it wasn't until 2013 that it gained back and kept going). Picrel is from July 2000 till Oct 2002, peak to bottom.

I don't have a bottom finding thesis, I just studied the charts and see that all of the crashes are more protracted and not nearly as abrupt and defined as the exceptionally different in every way 2020 one seen here, Feb to Aug. I reckon if I did have a thesis it's that you can't really time it, which is exactly what has been said for years, but kids always think they know better than those who came before and actually have a lot more experience and knowledge.
