I don't get it, why do you's buy coins that cost more just because they pictures on them?
Why not just buying the cheapest standard coin your billion dealer has?

Some people collect cardboard and plastic stuff. I sometimes collect silver coins, if the price isn't too high.
You can have both a stack of cheapies coins/bars, as well as a coin collection. It's not an either/or situation.
And I also have gold, but I don't collect this (for cost reasons). For me it's just a store of value.

Just buy stuff you like that's not too expensive. Generally I try to stay under 30 euros, but I'll go up to 35 if it's something I really want and/or a low mintage coin (under 10000). Only a couple times have I spent more than that, and never more than 40 for a 1 oz coin.
For stacking weight, I only buy the cheapest of cheapies and aim for 24 euros or less. There hasn't been many opportunities for that this year though. The last nice dip was in March, and I didn't have many funds ready at the time. Pic is what I bought.

from the article below (screencap) seems like they do this for other coins too, not just this one. However, when they do this its limited run and at a higher premium. Either way the frosty seems to be a nice addition to the collection, especially given what happened in 2020.

Interesting, that screencap says a mintage of 20k for the frosties but this other site says mintage was ~16k for the frosties and 45k shinies.
