>mfw I have $450k of student debt

I'm a family physician just graduated from residency and have a job starting in September with a $50k signing bonus, $200k forgivable loan (after 7 years) and will be making $280k (perhaps ~$300k after bonuses) a year.

At the moment I have ~$19k of liquidity.

What should I do? What would you do if you were me?

After 7 years the forgivable loan is effectively just taxable income. In regards to my student loans I plan to pay it down as fast as I can.

>>55557009
It was hell and I took one of the "chiller" paths. Sounds like you have a pretty kino life.

>>55557021
I spent my life studying science and medicine, I know nearly nothing of finances. Isn't the market shit right now? I suppose with the finances I have I could afford to put 20% down on something but I live in a pricier part of the US. Are you saying to jump into a house just to build equity as fast as I can?

Thank you all.

The Rothschild space bankers shouldn't have issued loans that algebraically can't be paid back.

Acting as their contact enforcer is not a legitimate function of any healthy society.

Learn 2 math & stop simping for the reptilians you cuck faggot.

English, Spanish, Farsi, Daari. The last two are very close in nature but I count them. Running a tetralingual clinic is the bane of my existence.

Medical school interviews were difficult as most school in the USA have a <2% acceptance rate. Residency interviews a bit less so, I had to impress but the power balance was a bit more equal as I needed a residency and they needed a resident.

Job interviews were a joke and had people falling over to hire me. We have a very significant doctor shortage in the USA and, although not the most glamorous, I am in the most in-demand specialty.

I never had to perform fellatio.

Why would you learn both the afghan and iranian dialects of farsi? There's a miniscule afghan or Iranian population in the US.

Also it's a stretch to call Dari it's own language. That's like saying england and the US speak different languages instead of different dialects.

I was born in the US but ethnically I'm Persian so I grew up speaking Farsi. Although indeed a small portion of the population in this country it is the 5th most spoken language in my health system so very invaluable. With the influx of Afghan refugees in recent times Dari speaking patients came and I picked it up.

That's a false analogy. I would say it's more like Spanish and Portuguese. Quite similar and maybe you could piece together communication, but you wouldn't have a total command of both languages when you just speak one.

Doesn't even need to be ai. You could replace a bunch of Dr's and pharmacists just with automated versions of the prescribing codec they use anyway. I dunno how they can keep a straight face demanding more pay and getting bitchy with patients when they literally just read questions from a computer screen and click through for you.

Nothing. You have a $300k salary. You made it. All you’ve got to do is pay off the minimum amount of debt to slowly chip away at it and avoid massive lifestyle inflation and you’re good. Study up on finance and exit to healthcare private equity/venture capital after 10 years or something. Get into literature and art so you’re not a complete left brain freak.

Live like you were still in residency and pay off that loan.

Then use your cash flow to make investments like buying apartment building near your work, turn the top floor into a penthouse for you and rent the rest or invest. Did anything you research for medschool and residency have potential to be commercially viable in the pharmaceutical or medical device market?

>> No.55559842

Honestly if you can survive residency you have no reason to be financially illiterate and end up a paycheck to paycheck wagie with a big house and flashy car. I don’t know why so many doctors are.
Take some business courses, maybe get an MBA and run your own practice
