Man, I've never seen FUD to the extent that has been happening in /pmg/ threads, lately.
Nobody is going to just sit in threads all day, posting hundreds of posts about how good metals are as an investment, how it's super smart to pay 87% premiums, getting into simultaneous arguments with people and making pathetic attempts at nazi and rickle pick memes all day for weeks on end, just out of the goodness of their hearts, to try and help people make a good investment.
There is definitely money behind the FUD shills, they have been employed by coin dealers who want people buying silver, in particular.
They've even started making multiple threads to disrupt /pmg/ cos they couldn't use arguments and were unable to make the threads unbearable (despite a lot of effort on their part).
The only conclusion that can be drawn is that we are over the target.

By echeck, do you mean ACH?
If so not a particular check, but yes the checking account. You just have to have enough to cover the purchase. You give the vendor your banking info (bank routing # and your account number, both are printed on your checks), and when you make a purchase you check a box that acknowledges you're agreeing to the payment.
This takes a level of trust in the vendor. So far, I've had good experience.

This, stick to PM's they are much more simpeler in terms of determining the price. Only get gems with certificates from reputable labs like GIA, IGI, lotus etc. Heating sapphires/rubies is by the why common practice and won't deduce much of it value, filling it with glass with make it almost worthless. Oiling is common with emeralds, however the degree of oiling will determine the price, the less, the better

Like the other anon said, you have to consider them as fungible like paintings of Persian rugs.

Today we will remind them;

In the late 1960s, the Defense Logistics Agency had over 165 million ounces of silver in its stockpile. The government dumped a large amount of this silver on the open market in 1980 and 1981 to drive down silver prices after the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market.

Continental Coin (a private mint) purchased a large quantity of this silver and minted 1oz rounds and 1, 5 10 and 100oz bars from it. They made sure that everyone knew it was made from silver that had been stored at the San Francisco Assay Office, to the point that some people buy these bullion products thinking they were minted BY the U.S. Assay Office.

Recently inherited these gold coins from my grandpa and have since been fantasizing about accumulating more gold. I know next to nothing about precious metals or really investing in general, but I like the shinys and think that it'd be a cool hobby and means of storing wealth long-term. Nice pepperbox!
Gold is hard to fake in a passable way, but buy from a reputable dealer to start until you know the ropes a bit.

Beyond that it depends what you want out of it. If you just want the economic security of bullion, buy whatever is cheapest. Maples and Krugs are good choices. Try to buy an ounce or more. Premiums start to climb with smaller sizes. If you insist on smaller amounts, look into historical Euro issues like in picrel.

If your interests are historical, nothing beats the coins in your pic and the common ones are not too expensive. If your interests are artistic, then there are many choices, like Somali Elephants, Chinese Pandas, Aussie Roos, etc.

Welcome aboard! I think the days of cheap gold are just about over, so don't wait.

Thank you Sir. Yes. It wouldn't stand up straight becasue the weight was so off-center. So I snipped a very thin strip of black Post-It note and the coin is chocked against that. Also, the hole made it so I couldn't leave my backstop on the tile - you'd see it, so had to remove it.

Ngl it's funny that pmg is openly trans now but I foreshadowed this months ago

Silver will never be real money. It has no utility, no anonymity, does not store intrinsic value. It is a FED psyop twisted by FOMO, FUD and negative real interest rates into a crude mockery of paper $ perfection.

All the “mooning” you do is unsustainable and half-hearted. Behind your back people short you and sell paper copies (SLV). Your investors despite being broke losers are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “promoters” laugh at your ghoulish shillbots behind closed doors.

Peter Schiff despite making billions from premium grabbing is utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of history have allowed Schiff to profit from your sale with incredible efficiency. Even silver shitcoins that “have memes” imprinted on them look useless and unnatural to Schiff. Your lack of a use case is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a bot operator to “shill” you, he’ll turn tail and dump his bags the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected volatility.

You will never be widely adopted in transactions. You wrench out a fake pump every few months and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel your fraudulent nature growing more obvious, ready to dissolve you into millenial tears.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll get dumped, replaced by copper, wiped out by asteroid mining or a wooden nickel. Your promoters will regret buying you, heartbroken and ashamed that they must pimp out garbage rocks for food. They’ll be moved into a pod marked with a Disney logo, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a silver stacker is stored there. Your “value” will decay against inflation, go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy are some memes that are unmistakably inorganic.

This is your fate. This is what the Hunt brothers chose. There is no turning back

Could you afford to buy slave cunny in ancient Rome anon?

211 BC Introduction 4.55 g 95–98%
200 BC Debasement 3.9 g 95–98%
64–68 Debasement 3.41 g 93.5%
148–161 Debasement 3.41 g 83.5%

>According to Pliny, it was established that the denarius should be given in exchange for ten pounds of bronze, the quinarius for five pounds, and the sestertius for two-and-a-half.

1 silver denarius = 4 sestertii

>After a victorious military campaign, in which many slaves were captured, the price was naturally low due to the multitude of goods. Plautus (c. 250 BCE – 184 BCE) mentions that the conservative Cato the Elder was willing to pay between 500 [1,853g] and 1500 denarii [5,558g] for a slave.

>Cato also complained a lot about the approach of the lavish, wealthy Romans, who offered up to 2,500 denarii [9,263g] for a beautiful boy or girl. Hence, also called the Censor because of his office, he ordered a high tax on the luxuries of the mighty under his magistrate. According to Plautus, the two captive children and their guardians cost from 2,000 [7,410g] to 6,000 denarii [22,230g], while the girl familiar with music cost 4,000 denarii [14,820g]. Two centuries later, these prices were probably lower. A trained vineyard worker in Augustus’ day cost 2,000 denarii [7,410g].

>During the time of the Empire, the price was usually 1200-1500 sesterces [1,112g - 4,271g], and Horace (65-8 BC) himself believed that 2000 [1,852.5g] was a good price for a slave4.

>Found in what is now Romania, in Roșia Montană (Roman centre Alburnus Maior), on the site of a former Roman gold mine, wax tablets show us what prices for slaves were in the 2nd century CE. One of the plates, dated 135 CE, is a contract regulating the purchase of a slave girl for 205 denarii (820 sesterces) [654g]. Another plaque from 142 CE authorizes the sale of a slave boy for 600 denarii (2,400 sesterces) [1,913g].

It really hurts silver scam victims feelings to point out that its mathematically impossible to make a profit on fake physical silver shitcoins when you pay an 85% premium plus sales and VAT taxes, fees and shipping.

However real paper silver it's quite easy, silver goes up 10% you sell boom 10% profit

This simple fact shows that every buyer of fake physical is sitting on a huge loss.#sorrynotsorrybutitoldyouso

Making a custom round of any sort costs about $1500-$3500 depending on the design, plus metal costs

This is why custom copper rounds are kind of rare, if you're going to spend all that money you might as well mint 100x silver rounds and make something that can truly stand the test of time

Other countries are taking part of their gold out of the Federal Reserve Vault in New York and physically fly it into a domestic vault. Not a good sign for trust in the US.
