kek, being broke and wasting money on takeout. Learn to cook. Dice up some chicken, onions, peppers. Cook the chicken, then add some teriyaki sauce.

Same here anon I am unemployed for 11 months
no CS degree but studied like madman and can solve hard leetcodes. + killer projects 2 interviews and nothing

l2code is biggest meme. I wish I went another route, WHY? because in other fields such as engineering, laywers, etc you get easy time as years go but with coooding you will have to relearn new stacks every few years which puts u on the same level of newcomers but they are younger than u so they also have brain plasticity adventage. Anway it's the biggest scam and there is reason u don;'t see programmers above 45 in this field, probably killed or they work as wagie yelling "IT'S POWER HOUR"

45 is way too late. I have never met a good coder older than mid-30's. CS and coding are pure effort and you can't compete with 20 year old's working 12-16 hour days. At 30-35 you need to have moved to management or you will get fired and never rehired.

>ensure your 1500W oven is compliant
>plug in your oven so current runs through it
>calculate the energy required to heat your element to “medium”
>throw veggies in a pan, cook to slightly more raw than what looks perfect, set aside on a plate
>take out voltmeter to make sure the oven is still compliant
>hit pan with veg oil and then cook cubed chicken. add garlic and ginger close to the end, and then hit with teriyaki sauce. mix with veg
>turn off oven, test integrity of circuitry to ensure it still meets regulations
wala, dinner is served

Unfortunately this field is saturated as fuck, and it feels incredibly tough to break in now even with a fking degree... UNLESS you are a woman. Possibly you will get some minority privileges too but I can't say for sure, however I've seen first hand how employers will hand women who are worse than men opportunities left and right. Its just insane, I would get mad about it but there's no point so it is what it is I guess.

there are elements of truth to this, but on the whole, what you said is retarded. unless they are an autistic savant, a 20-year-old would not have even graduated college yet. meaning that person would be a boot camp graduate at best, and almost certainly a net negative on overall productivity. i can also assure you that if you want to work in a highly-compensated space like machine learning or distributed systems, you will need at least a masters, if not a Ph.D., and/or 5-10 years worth of independent work/projects

Where is your internship experience? Projects are a dumb meme, employers don't give a fuck what your portfolio looks like, they don't even look at your github anymore. The only reason why you do projects is so you have shit to spew during an interview that makes you look competent.

45 might be too late to start. but i know engineers that are 40+ at my company. they've been working there for 20+ years and know the code and infrastructure in and out. I know staff / architect level engineers that are 38-45

Anons if you've been unemployed for that long and really just want a job, look into alternate certification to become a teacher in your state. You have to have a lot of patience and be able to put up with today's shit kids, but there's a desperate shortage of math teachers so depending on what state you're in if you can pass a math test then you can be a math teacher. The pay isn't great but it's not shit either. Just make sure you have the personality to handle it.
