Good choice. The article doesn't mention anything about 'mad' people more than in the click bait title.

So your guess is as good as anyones. Big tittied servers who've BJ:d their way to all the most crowded hours is mine.

They also only had 1 day to accept the new contract (double pay, no tip) or quit, which would probably piss some of.

Opponents of a livable wage argue that such policy could potentially harm the very individuals it aims to help and might negatively impact the broader economy. They posit that setting a high minimum wage could lead to job losses and automation, as companies might not be able to sustain increased labor costs and could opt to cut workforce or invest in automated technologies to replace human labor. Small businesses, especially those operating with tight margins, might find it difficult to stay afloat. Additionally, they suggest that artificially raising wages could cause inflation, as businesses could pass the increased costs onto consumers through higher prices. Lastly, opponents believe in the principle of merit-based pay and worry that a livable wage might disincentivize productivity or professional growth, as employees would be guaranteed a certain income regardless of performance.

Businesses need to do more for their employees. It should become commonplace for your employer to provide some sort of onsite safe area for workers to reside overnight, even if they're just sleep pods with locks on them.

I can only speak for the place I'm at but on an exceptional night it's $700-1,000. On a great night it's $500-600. A good night is $300-400. And anything under $300 is just ok.
They also tip out 25% to support staff / bartender.
So that $600 night turns into a $450 night and then it gets put on a check where it's taxed and suddenly it's not so great when a few slow nights flatten out the average. We are also seasonal so that kind of money is really only coming around from like May - September and it's been a shitty, rainy, summer so far.
Restaurant staff are also fucking retarded and they only exist in the present state.
They either want to make $500/night or they want to immediately go home. Then they wonder why they make like $30k for the year when they'd probably make $80k if they just stuck with it.

The restaurant industry sucks and it's soul crushing if you do it too long but if you're in high school I recommend getting some shitty job like a host or a busser at a good restaurant, not a Chilli's. Do that for a year then make server and you'll have a sick job for college and that first post-grad year when you're doing your entry level adult job that pays like $50k.
Then just get the fuck out and don't look back. Focus on building your career and starting a life.
