>In economics and finance, a Glownigger Market is said to occur when a country's financial policymakers begin manipulating econometric data for their political benefit. [1] This may be accompanied by organized propaganda campaigns, hidden monetary easing, as well as other forms of financial repression, in order to reinforce the illusion that a nation's troubled economy is sound and resilient. [2, 3] In a Glownigger Market, stocks may seem to rally, even irrationally so, in the face of worsening economic conditions. However, while the goal of a Glownigger Market is to either delay or prevent a politically undesireable financial correction from occurring, the policy actions that led to the Glownigger Market invariably increase the severity of the subsequent financial crisis. By attempting to overpower healthy corrective market forces, a Glownigger Market causes extreme capital misallocation that can turn a minor economic downturn into a severe and protracted economic depression. It depends on what the brokerages do to make up for the revenue. One theory is that, yes, you would have to pay higher commissions (or start if they don't charge you now), and in theory you would get better executions that would make up for the difference. Another theory is that brokerages can make enough money just on margin interest to make up for the missing PFOF revenue. In that case, the executions *might* get better, and you'd still have low/free commissions, but margin users might pay more. The second option looks better because brokerages would prefer to keep comissions at zero or low, as it encourages more trading... which was really good with PFOF but can still be good with margin accounts (since the more you trade, the less settled cash you have in any moment).

Charles Ingles had an uncle that owned a carriage company on Little House on the Prairie. He had built an incredible fortune and when he died a lawyer showed up in Walnut Grove and informed Charles that he was the beneficiary even though he only met the uncle once when he was a kid and visited, and forgot that he even existed. The lawyer brought a locked case that contained the inheritance. Turns out the uncle was really eccentric (a mild word for what he was, according to the lawyer) and wild, and spent the entire fortune down to nothing but what was in that case which only Charles was to open. It was stacks of now useless Confederate money. Laura and her friend used it to wallpaper the hut they built innawoods. I wonder if that carriage company was publicly traded and lots of stookholders lost everything. After first being informed if the inheritance which was then thought to be massive, everyone started coming around trying ahead to get things from Charles once he got the money, and Charles ran up a big tab at the mercantile. Everyone learned some good lessons from it all.

>The New York Fed's data reveals that millennials in their 30s are accumulating debt at an alarming rate and are struggling with credit card and auto loan repayments. Delinquency rates in these areas have soared, further compounding their financial difficulties.

>A key factor in this story is how student debt has affected millennials' financial situation. According to a survey by Legal & General, more than one-third of millennials say their student loans have prevented them from buying a home. This shows that student debt has been a significant barrier for millennials in achieving their goal of homeownership and overall financial stability. The interest-free payment pause, also known as forbearance, was initially implemented as an emergency measure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic under the Trump administration in March 2020. Over the course of three years, this relief measure was extended nine times. But with its expiration, borrowers must adjust to the reality of making student loan payments again.

so basically we're in a state where market is gonna dump hard next week since inflation data is not looking good and fed will probably hike harder than expected, then after some panic optimism will come back on the prelude to earnings season, and every last dip will be slurped
then earnings season will make us pump higher than ever before, because "how can the economy be in the shitter when le ebin nvidia is promising a gazillion percent annual growth in AI chips?"
then come early august people will suddenly remember CPI and rate hikes are a thing again and we dump again, only for the dip to be slurped because "we already got through the worst of it, rate hikes are bullish since they mean we're one step closer to lower rates"
and this cycle will continue repeating itself, quite possibly for a few months, until all of a sudden we'll have a dip that will keep dipping without being slurped until we're suddenly in a bear market again?

Went to watch flash yesterday, got some cinema entrances for free from work
was alone, there were maybe 10 people at most in the room, seems like the movie was a flop money-wise
I still kinda liked it, the cringe "witty" zoomer jokes are just par for the course for american capeshit so it didn't bother me, my eyes got a bit wet during the scenes with Barry's mother
Batman dudes were meh, good fanservice for the nostalgiafags I guess
Genderbent superman was barely a character so I don't know why they even threw her in there, but the actress was hot so it's all good
Overall I can say I enjoyed it, hadn't watched any DC-related films since Joker and before that the dark knight trilogy
Kinda makes me wanna go and watch marvel's civil war as well

yes, which is why I prefer ES. It doesn't trend as well, but it respects levels and stop losses more than NQ does in my opinion. On friday, I was done in 5 mins before the markets even opened. I managed to catch 5 more points later that day for ~$200 day, closed out before they really ran. I couldve easily had a 4x risk/reward day since I was debating opening another order when I saw the setups later that day but didn't since I had already hit my profit targets for the day.

>No, I mean this - you open a position with 1 contract and you start making money, you buy another contract or more.

Oh, no I don't do that. I load up on my full position from the get go since I only target 10 pts most of the time. Anything more than that is gravy. But it's pretty common to catch a runner lately.

When I do and want to let my position ride, I will throw on Donchian channels on the 2 min chart, and exit once price breaks the channel on the opposite side. You can catch most of the up move this way on a trend day.

I don't like staying in futures that long. I usually am in various options positions also, but I don't like having my entire account tied up in margin. And it's really hard to watch more than 1 market. I trade options on the daily TF.

I actually think futures intraday is the easiest way to trade desu. I may not know what the market is going to do 1 month or even 1 week from now, but it's much easier to predict the next 15-20 mins.

Gotta run to the gym will be back later if you have any other Qs.

nta but if you're buying bond etfs you can make profit that's pretty much guaranteed based on the interest rate
for percent that the bond yield curve falls, your etf will increase in value the same percent times the average duration

so TLT and EDV both have an average bond duration of 25 years and are sitting around 4%
if the rate then goes back to 3% it increase in 25%
and it'll keep increasing the more it goes down

Been on vacation all week.
Looks like we're finally seeing some progress towards the 2nd wave oil pump and the eventual market collapse due to all the downstream shortages and resurgence of inflation that'll bring. its like that because of the current economic conditions or phase of the cycle. Read this https://www.investopedia.com/articles/trading/05/020305.asp, then ask yourself where we are in the cycle and is it likely to go to the next phase or continue this phase? your utilities and energy are doing well because we were late in the cycle. Theres anticipation that we got some soft landing and are restarting the cycle again, if you believe this then you hold to you cons disc or maybe even double down if you have enough conviction for this scenario to play out in the future. In a very over simplified way, look at pic related, do you think we get the red or the blue arrow? it doesnt have to be now, we can have an arrow play out next year.

yeah, timing the actual bottom is tough, but you can often see the early stages of reversal and jump in at a slightly less perfect time than the absolute. Take CVS for example. It may or may not yet be the bottom, but it's showing pretty strong signs of a maybe, and maybe even a probably.

AVAL does not pay 82%. lmao. I hold that shit as part of my Colombia basket, and it's currently paying out 1.6 cents per share, per month. Comes out to around 8-9% yield.
In the first place, APY doesn't really make sense to rely on as a metric since there's no guarantee you can reinvest at the same share price, or that dividends will remain continuous.

I generally wouldn't recommend putting much weight into dividends at all. Fundamentally, they're irrelevant - its just dollars shifting from the company balance sheet back to your pocket. You can of course look at yield and payout ratio and internal growth to see which companies may be cheap in a way that benefits you, vs other companies that may be cheap in a way such that management squanders the money on pet projects or outright fraud, but there are also plenty of well-run companies that pay a small but growing dividend, or those which do not pay any dividend at all. In fact, those internal compounders often make for the best long-term holds due to the inherent tax advantages of avoiding a taxable event.

What? No, their primary customers are credit wielding center or left families. People aren’t going to boycott when their fucking little kids scream for Disney+ for hours. This is not a bud light situation at all.
Don’t get me wrong, I hate trannies as much as any normal human being, but betting against Disney is not a good money strategy

>got SOXL at a 16 dollar average and am bidding time until I can get a good feel on its highs and lows before I sell
>got JEPI enough to where I'm just using its dividend to reinvest into it to grow it
>mfw no clue where to pivot now that isn't overpriced or has a great growth potential, so my paychecks are just collecting dust in my checking account
Man.

I know nothing of it. As I said, I was reading the Wikipedia article on the muffins, and that led me to the Thomas page which told the essentials and gave the ticker in the sidebar. Otherwise, I just assume Mexican anything is a front for the cartels.

Disney plus is already losing customers. They've destroyed the star wars movies so bad that even the actors can't hide their displeasure with it. The marvel movies are played out and cape shit fatigued is setting in. Unless they fundamentally change their business model, it's going to be a slow bleed.

Didn't say I was going to short. They still have their parks which are grossly overpriced and always packed. But their leadership is full of fucking retards, so who knows they might fuck those up too.

A lot of bank earnings in the next two weeks. Honestly surprised that FRC was the last bank to get FDIC'd.
Honest question, are the bank runs over? With the threat of more future rising interest rates, will regionals survive? If so would that make current bank prices undervalued?
