Remember everyone, $46BN silver and gold market in a $122BN premium grabbing scheme. Pair that with the supply/demand of silver which can easily produce a whopping 1800M worldwide, which is enough to procure 43 pounds for every AMERICAN. Per person on the planet you get a piece of silver roughly the size of an apple, when the demand for silver approaches zero. Look up the famous Mark Dice video. L to the MAO. The global silver system is a PONZI and it requires you to work tirelessly to pay premiums and store your metal in an expensive safe while paying 0 interest and dividends. It hasn't a chance in hell in providing you with the life the shills promise you. Your insurance, SS, etc are all pools of resources that have already been spent. Finance and accounting can NEVER create wealth on their own, and no amount of finagling will allow you to spend money EIGHTY times. All that the silver-ponzi has left to do is monetize the losses/default. Or in other words, actualize losses. That's why they shill garbage rocks to you 24/7/365. And there is no way to move the losses around on a balance sheet without someone who is not (you) footing the bill. All they can do is charge exorbitant premiums. And to avoid the losses you have to avoid so called precious metals, including gold, silver and copper,

The more you know......

Coin dealers make money by hiring shillbots to spread FUD, and charging exorbitant premiums. that is their scam. Silver is bought cheaply from JP Morgan which happily offloads the outdated currency when the dealers shift into a shilling mode 9000. The "Silver" is created when the price of the coin from JP Morgan is added to the balance of that central bank after the dealer buys it. The coin dealer must pay it back at interest, and they themselves are allowed to charge out or "sell" several times this amount of silver at premiums to the buyers, AKA the shillees. Hence the 6 week delivery times, or float in industry parlance, of silver sold at "fair" premiums. The overall object is not even so much to make money. money (or rather, usury) is simply a tool by which they attempt to control the general public. the fed is a private organization and has private shareholders and very profitable and desires to continue existing. By deactivating the victims from taking effective actions against the FED they achieve this goal.

I would love to have enough gold and silver to use as ACTUAL currency again and not the gay paper note shit
besides, using gold and silver will only become more necessary if humans want to expand into space, electronics and industries that use gold or silver wiring and components demand it
It won't be "game over" it will be "hell fucking yeah gold and silver for everyone
Gold and silver is not valuable because it is rare, that is retard thinking
Gold and silver is INHERINTLY valuable as a chemical element and it's critical uses beyond currency, having them used as a currency was merely convenient and would probably become convenient once more if gold and silver becomes abundant again
ass long as there is civilization, there will always be demand for precious metals since every critical infrastructure uses them

So far bringing back 0.1 gram of asteroid on earth costed us a combined $800,000,000 + $300,000,000 via the mission Hayabusa1 & 2. And it was dirt.
Considering a similar abundance ratio than on earth (0.003ppm = part per million), we'd need to bring back x300,000,000,000 the amount we managed to secure with Hayabusa's spaceships to make an ounce of gold.

$1,200,000,000 x 300,000,000,000 = 3,6e+20 USD/oz with the current technology availible.
That's 360,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollaridoos/oz. To put it in perspective anon, this number is so large it's impossible to put it in perspective.

So i think mining on earth will be our only option for a little while. Like probably until the extinction of mankind.

100% subjective. It's only based on numista's registered accounts' collections.
Some coins are considered staples, because they are sought after and nice looking, so everybody on numista have them, even though they are relatively rare for the common people. Like Vatican's silver coins.

On the other hand, nobody gonna bother posting a 2 cents eurocoin from 2014 minted at 18 quadrillions examplars, because it's shit and nobody cares. So it may show a higher rarity score.

But overall they give a decent idea on what's sought after, and what is truly rare. If you end up with a 90+ score, you most likely have in your hands a very rare coin by any metric. Doesn't necessarly mean it will fetch tens of Ks, the liquidity can be quite limited, but still, you probably have a winner.

Depends on when you buy and sell. Spot price was $26 a few months ago which is higher than most of the silver I bought, even with premiums on top. But I don't really care because only a retard would sell at this point, let alone for spot when even coin shops give you way more than spot. As far as I'm concerned spot price is fake and gay and it's only going to become faker and gayer as time goes on.

You are welcome.
Most countries have what we call hallmarks, which are tiny official marks you'll find on every item made out of precious metal which prove the origin, the metal/alloy used and it's purity.
Here you have a very nice resource for it :
https://www.silvercollection.it/index.html

Don't buy anything who isn't displaying any hallmark, or hallmarks you didn't manage to identify. Because marks exist also for pretty much everything, and you'll end up buying plated shit more often than not.
A lot of ppl are putting plated stuff on sale thinking it's in silver. They aren't necessarly scammers, just ignorants. So don't trust the titles.
Knowing your keywords will help you a lot to target more accurately silver items at first. Like the name of the marks of your country, "sterling", "lion passant", "minerve", etc..

But you might not want to bother with having to deal with a smelter and all. If so the frens here will redirect you toward the cheapest resellers online, like https://www.acheter-or-argent.fr.. Then it's up to you to be patient and wait for a slurping opportunity, when the spot price dip low enough for your tastes.
You can also find great deal for coins on ebay, but the battle is often more fierce than for old spoons, broken bowls or forks. Look after the lots, because it's not rare that ppl are too lazy to do the maths between all the coins displayed to see what price is a good deal.

Hey frogbro, that is actually a pretty nice quality lot of "uncleaned" roman bronzes, and it includes some of the late 3rd century debased Antoninianus "double denarius" coins which have been becoming more popular with collectors in recent decades. Those coins look like "desert patina" pieces or at least ones dug in an arid environment like maybe Turkey, not dug in Germany or England. Basically all of the visible pieces look like good or at least decent coins which wouldsignificantly benefit from cleaning, they are not the nasty corroded worthless irredeemable worn-down slugs that shlomo sells as "uncleaned". Prices for uncleaned bronzes have been going upconsistently the past 20 years so I wouldn't be surprised if the batch goes for over ~$4/coin, and if they didn't hide 25 junkers under the nicer ones in the pile pic it would be a good deal at ~$2.50/coin and under. Give me more info and I can give you more guidance, but I do like the look of that batch and would be personally interested in it as material to clean with my tools (pic related) under my binocular microscope.

I was busy and forgot to bid on this lot from Canada which ended yesterday, 196 grams of .830 silver (162.6g of pure, ~$120 melt value) someone got for the opening bid, even with the high international shipping cost to the USA it would have only cost me about $42 total or ~$8/ozt asw and if the winner was a Canadian it cost considerably less. $10/oz or cheaper silver can be gotten every day if you know how to look:

The likelihood of finding, mining, and returning PMs in any substantial quantity from asteroids is currently very small. There is a race (uncoordinated) between developing such operations and a nuclear disaster brought about by any of several megalomaniacs around the world.
Then there's 'inflation'. PMs are a commodity, and just as susceptible to supply and demand. If large quantities of the stuff were made accessible to Earthers, the overall value of the market should drop.
You can fantasize that rarity is disassociated from value, but you might want to come up with more reasoned arguments than critical uses and convenience (which would be increased with quantity, as you ironically point out, yet miss the connection).

The appearance of the "worn" stars is from the comically weak strike of die attribute O-107.
Here you can see the different die attributes:
http://maibockaddict.com/1806-draped-bust-half-dollars.shtml

Consider the minting process:
>mint worker finds that coin is over acceptable weight
>mint worker applies filing marks
>coin is struck after being riddled with marks
>all filing marks on the coin disappear due to being struck except for the area of the weak strike

Bonus picrel is an example of another O-107 in similar condition with the same marks. It did not details grade for the marks.

You are reading in my mind haha, i'm interested with this lot because i'd like to give cleaning a chance.
I recently came across a cool sounding dude on jewtube who restore coins using the same tools as in your pic and i thought it was great and would fulfill my archeologic itch.

>Give me more info and I can give you more guidance
There isn't much more infos sadly, here is the auction : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/394721961193
It was at 20€ earlier today, so it went up fast!
Where did you find all your dirt removing tools?

>>55481882
Yes the bowl did grow on me, the quality seemed very nice. After doing some searches, it turns out it's coming from a pretty famous swedish silversmith house. I don't remember the name but i can look it up.

PS : the brass and copper royal jetons just showed up in the mail! I'll sort them out and post more pics later on.

Damn dude, when you first posted that half I thought the scratches were PMD, I was unaware of the practice of planchet adjustment with coarse files and wasn't familiar with the different die varieties but I see the weakly struck area which at first glance I thought someone had scraped down and now believe you're quite right, thanks for the lesson anon and congrats on the savvy purchase! Thank you. For now I plan to keep it within the collection as I have no reason to sell it.

These coins are already very niche. The 1806 half O-107a (this is a subvariant of 107 that accounts for the die crack in "UNI") currently carries the rarity rating of R4+ which is quite scarce, estimated 76-115 surviving examples.

Digging through auction archives, I can only find five of which that carry adjustment marks. While adjustment marks don't mean a details grade, the other anon was correct that it makes the value of the coin more subjective.

Seeing that the last listing of this type on Heritage hammered in 2018 for $1,080 (albeit in slightly higher condition I will admit), I figure that this coin would be in the ballpark of $800-1,200. This takes into account the inflation of prices in numismatic markets post-2020 as well as the difference in condition.

Meaning, I would expect to see 2x-3x what I paid for (again, I paid details prices as the seller thought it was "scratched"). If the coin does unexpectedly throw up a details grade, I am pretty confident that I would still be able to break even.

>> No.55486029

>>55485994
I will say that the coin is a great testament to the days of when silver and gold WERE money. Every grain of silver was accounted for when making these coins. When filing the planchets down, workers caught shavings in their leather aprons and shoes and collected them at the end of the day. Clothes were kept on site at the mint, they were changed in and out of before and after every shift. Waste water in the mint was collected and dried to extract any missing metals. Everything was collected and returned to the melting pot.

Yeah that jump in price is to be expected, still a good deal provided they didn't put a bunch of horrible junk underneath. You might want to try finding smaller lots of uncleaned coins from sellers in Bulgaria, Serbia and neighboring areas to start practicing with if you're not yet comfortable spending a few hundred on dirty coins.
>Where did you find all your dirt removing tools?
I made lots of the tools myself from old thicker gauge copper wire that I hammer-hardened into a square or diamond cross-section, then used files and sharpening stones to refine the points. they get dull fast so need to be resharpened frequently but I really like them, being made of soft copper makes them less dangerous and damaging to coins than the steel diamond-tipped tools if you make mistakes. Bamboo kebab skewers and especially Locust tree thorns are very nice, and the tool at the bottom with 2 sewing pins I keep very sharp to get into the smallest and finest details is a "pin vice" like:
https://premium-ancient-coins.com/en-us/products/uncleaned-coin-cleaning-tool-vise-3-diamond-grinding-tips

I also made a scrubbing tool by tightly twisting some fine steel wool and inserting it into a hollow ballpoint pen tube, it is very good for quickly removing looser dirt and cleaning up flat areas on coins and would be super useful for coins like the ones in that eBay auction, removing most of the grime fast so you can focus on the details with the slower but more precise sharp tools without wasting too much time. It's a fun hobby, very good if your mobility is limited by the back problems.

>>55485994
Thanks for elaborating anon, I don't learn interesting and useful things every day but this insight into Draped Bust silvers is great stuff. Hopefully you can find more Draped Busts priced cheap because people think they were post-mint damaged, you've demonstrated that it's a good little niche to keep an eye on.

>How do you find these? Do you just search "sterling"?

kek, it's not quite that simple. Any dumb boomer who wants silverware can (and does) search "sterling", so the properly listed and titled items almost always sell for prices that aren't really appealing. There are techniques and strategies for efficiently mining the "sleeper" auctions listed by ignorant normies where the items are good silver but they don't include "sterling" in the title, or even erroneously call it "silverplate" or "stainless", but it's neither straightforward to outline nor in our best interest to hand you our proprietary playbooks.

>>55486084
>how can you even tell the silver weight on ebay spoon lots?

That seller stated the weight in the description lol, but if no weight is given I am pretty good at estimating, and if the pieces are of a pattern I recognize or can easily figure out then I'll just search for listings of items of that same pattern where the weight is given and calculate based on that, it's pretty elementary fren.

Searching "sterling" in titles AND descriptions in backwater categories can be pretty productive. The majority of sterling gets listed under the main "antiques" category in the "silver" subcategory and that is where boomers go to browse for deals and then wind up bidding everything up, but some good silver winds up in weird categories and can fly under the radar. Searching for more unusual alloys like 950, 935, 900, 835, 830, 800 etc. can also be worthwhile. Good luck!

I'd say groups like JP Morgan and Blackrock are desperately shoveling silver into the COMEX. The price needs to be tamped down, and the COMEX must not be allowed below whatever psychological barrier their analysts have come up with. The normies must be kept in the dark about the debasement of their currency and what truly has value

Unless I'm wrong about how much people like us and Wall St. Silver are forcing (((their))) hand, I don't think we'll ever see silver below $20 again. We seem to be approaching an endgame, though what endgame remains to be seen. We're probably going to see an outlawing and confiscation of privately owned physical silver and gold before things really get out of control.

All I know is we need to buy land, guns, and more gold and silver. If we play our cards right, we will make it beyond our wildest dreams. The WEF will just have to accept the new global financial elite will include autists from some internet imageboard.

but your best bet is to list them on ebay (researching the years and pricing accordingly), because there will always be some idiot willing to pay insane premiums on a tragically common, ugly, and well-preserved coin for the purpose of "completing their collection."

I would be careful about getting most of those graded. Check the years and mint marks. Look for any particularly rare dates and narrow those down. Then consider getting the cream of those crop graded.

btw, the grading process doesn't necessarily tell you what it's worth, only the condition, and it can get weird. it's generally a good idea if you have bulk or rare/really good quality coins, or if you got them graded 20 years ago (old logos without websites/QR codes carry their own premiums).

generally i use it as a seal of authenticity when buying coins off ebay randos, and don't fuss about years/slab logos/mint marks/shipwreck/famous collection annotations/etc.

So, I've just been reading about the Varna necropolis in Bulgaria due to finding out that it is currently the biggest hoard of gold ever to have been found in a grave site. The total amount of gold across 300+ graves is 6kg (192.9 troy oz), with grave 43 having more gold than the entire rest of the world in that period. Impressive, but what I find most impressive is that a bunch of shitposters who hang out in the back corner of the internet pretty much have more combined gold than this ancient golden kingdom. Pretty fucking wild thinking about it.

yes it's euro junk, not pejorative, just a term for euro versions of pre-1964 U.S. common coins (90% silver)

nazi ones with meme crosses are the only euro junk that carries premiums disproportionate to their actual value. the rest is slightly less than U.S. junk if selling to U.S. citizens only cuz a quarter or dime is more familiar than a franc

you might sell it by the oz at a premium slightly less than "consitutional silver" goes for (research that term, it's used by ppl selling junk silver to doomsday preppers at above-average premiums)

lol based merchant detector. but seriously, i want to engage this anon because $3700, as-is, negotiable, is a fair offer. considering he can sell them to a (((coin shop))) for $3350-3500 at the absolute max, or get them graded and sell them all individually for up to maybe $4000 minus ebay fees.

and part of the negotiation would be me possibly splitting the ebay fees in exchange for a lower premium / security of payment and shipping, for the guarantee of buying all at once for my personal stack

maybe coin buying DOES turn ppl into kikes, i dunno. don't circumcise your kids

also i will say to coin-hoard anon, i met a guy in his situation once. was looking for a safe and it turns out the ebay listing was a hour drive away so i could collect it for cash and no shipping

while i was there, it turns out his father-in-law gifted him like half a coin shop on retirement so i was unprepared for the onslaught of stuff and so was he. he just wanted it all gone

we did work out a deal where i also bought a bunch of kennedy half dollars (i showed him the bullion price on numista and he told me to pay $1 less for each to remove them all)

i also bought some funny old pennies for like $2 each which was an accurate estimate. none were the famous "penny worth $100000000000000" story cuz the father in law obv only gave away the junk from his shop

though i did pass on a couple cool books and an unknown quantity of gold shavings, oh well

PCGS got bought by a hedge fund and they fired all of the experienced numismatists. They’ve been undergrading and misidentifying coins as counterfeit for 6 months now out of fear of over grading/slabbing a fake. It’s a waste of money now, in addition to being a waste of time. Send something of lower value off to them, they’re afraid to give high marks to pre-33.
