The token not needed stems from the fact that the network needs it to function. Its funny because the fud is literally the exact opposite what what theyre saying.

>>55461472
That’s what I’m thinking
The whitepaper and onchain clearly shows that tokens are needed. So why did the fud start? Do retards think that just because the retail doesn’t use it the token isn’t needed?

>> No.55461503

>>55461492
Retail will use it though, just not directly!
They may pay for services in USD but it all gets converted

A token is needed true, however there's no reason why that token needs to be Chainlink

>> No.55462061

I thought part of it was related to Arbitrum because it was hyped forever as something that would pump Link but in reality it just makes Ethereum even more dominant as the best smart contract chain while link is sidelined...even more oddly chainlink vrf and maybe some feeds weren't even on Arbitrum from day one so I have no idea as a nolinker why that connection was so hyped up

>> No.55462079

>>55461386
nolinkers realized that they couldn't fud the network anymore so they started fudding the tokenomics

So get this, it’s because the token is not needed. Crazy concept right?!

>> No.55462326

the fud started here as people were pissed off that staking was taking so long
it then went to ct where they took it and people started actually believing it
this was turbocharged by linktards on ct pissing off a lot of people with their euphoria from 2019-21
the great irony in all of this is that link has the best tokenomics, but will take some time until implemented (v2 really)

Well, according to the third paragraph of this BOA report tokenized assets are already being used. If a DLT platform is able to settle $1.4 trillion a month worth of tokenized repos, then it doesn't seem like chainlink is playing any role in that. And if they are, the token certainly isn't being used given that it's currently a whopping $6.60.

The token is needed to incentivise users and builders, particularly in DePIN settings such as PEAQ, Faggot. It's amusing since the fud is precisely the inverse of what they're saying.
