My parents told me investing was a scam my entire childhood. The only reason I started was I found out I really enjoyed studying economics. I didn't start investing until I was 25.

My parents told me never to go to college because it was a scam, so I never went.

I've been waging in the same factory for over a decade now, on 3rd shift and it's slowly draining my life away. I don't like a single person there and the management is legitimately retarded. I only stay now because of the benefits (which are pretty good) and the 3 weeks of paid vacation time.

If I leave, I would probably have to take a pay cut. When I brought it up to my mom she said "I would be sorry" if I decided to quit.

I don't want to do this factory shit anymore. I feel like a fucking NPC. I just want to take a break and go work retail or something.

What do you think?

Do NOT do this! Retail is a living hell, even worse than factory work. You'd be better off being a beggar for a while for maybe go couch-surfing in asia, do not get a retail job!!!

Retail and service industries are absolutely the bottom of the barrel. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES QUIT THAT JOB!!! Get off social media including 4Chan and get your personal life sorted out go to the gym and to a therapist if you need to, get your head out of your ass.

night shift in a factory is a living hell but you need to figure out a better path forward. retail is not the answer. the pay will be shittier, the management will be even more retarded, and you'll have to deal with 65 IQ customers all day long.

If you're making good money, tough it out for a while until you figure out what you actually want to do. Then pursue that. Making good money should not be taken for granted these days. You will not enjoy retail. Truth is, work any job long enough and you'll figure out reasons to hate it.

How unfulfilled you feel with life in general dumbass, you know what maybe you are cut out for the retail space given how stupid you seem to be.

>studying economics

Daily reminder that finance is pseudoscientific make believe garbage and capitalism is inherently unstable, exploitative and unsustainable with a built in expiration date. Ever escalating recessions, poverty, debt, wealth inequality, monopolies, worsening labor conditions, disease, pollution, exploitation, slavery, conflict and wars are fundamental, necessary and intended principles of it, NOT glitches. Greed, selfishness, lying, cheating, stealing, competition, conflict, slavery and war and overall evilmaxxing are behaviors highly encouraged and incentivized under capitalism. It is LITERALLY cancer and i dont mean it metaphorically, i mean it literally, it shares the exact same functions and principles as a cancer cell.

Unless every single financier parasite, banker and trader is euthanized and every stock market and bank is burned to the ground, and the status quo completely abolished, the biosphere and all life will extinguished. The higher the "Line god" (GDP) is, the lower life is.

It is extremely rare that boomers are right about anything but in this case they are right. Investing is indeed a scam

Real talk, your parents are fucking retarded and they set you up for failure. They literally set you up to become an NPC.

Post-Secondary education isn't a cure-all thing for being poor, but it does open up a lot of opportunities, which is something you need because you are stuck at the bottom of the ladder without a way to advance up.

My advice would be to:
Pursue an education at a community college. It's much more cheap and affordable than universities if money is a concern. Since you seem to be interested in economics, take some courses and major in it.
You may have to tough it out at the factory for a little while in order to build savings, but as soon as you have enough to sustain yourself for a good while, gtfo. Don't do retail, it's hell. Don't do food service, they don't pay you enough for the work you do. Try a receptionist job, especially if you have good customer service skills.

Look You have 3 things in life: time, health money. Wageslaves trade their time and health for money and it's a huge mistake.
Do the opposite of the slaves and you may have a shot at a decent life.
To earn money there 4 way
-wageslaving
-''content creator'' according to zoomers
-daytrading
-inheriting from rich parents or welfare

daytrading is the best compromise but it's a real job

Looking back, I wish they would've pushed me to pursue my goals and express myself. I was afraid to even let them hear the music I was playing as a kid because I thought they would make fun of me (yes, I'm serious).

Ya, I actually already have a shit-ton of money saved up. I'm 29 and my net worth is over $250k. I'm also already fit/athletic, I have friends I can hangout with almost every weekend, I dress nice, I'm fairly good-looking, I have hobbies, I go outside every weekend, etc. I'm just tired of the monotony of this job. That's why this weirdos replies >>55419279 >>55419458 don't make sense. I'm not depressed, I'm bored out of my damn mind doing the same things every day.

The entire reason I wanted to do retail was to hone-in on customer service skills, since I haven't done it for over a decade. But, I'll try your approach. I don't think I have much to lose at this point.

That sounds fucking awful, bro. I hope you've gone no contact or at least minimized it with your parents.
Congrats on having all of your shit together, though.
As for community college, you could easily attend one for four years and drop less than $20k for tuition. If you want to spend a little bit more, go for a cheap university.
Aside from you soulless job that drains your life, you're in a really good position. So change that and you'll be chill for life.

I've been out of the game for 3+ years. I always did good research and found incredibly promising investments but inevitably the insiders get greedy and fuck everything up for high iq investors. Even had a company go private after a 90% loss. Have no clue how they got that shit approved but investing is mostly like buying scratch offs.

Boomers didn't have to invest to get ahead when they were coming of age, they're stuck thinking shit still works like it did back in the 70s and 80s, and are in complete denial thinking the modern paradigm will be as simple as grinding your nose in the dirt for the same asshole boss for 40 years and retire with a comfy pension and reaping a medley of benefits.

Hang in there factory, fren. I am in almost the exact same situation as you.
I don't leave mine because I have a decent position but I've thought about it many times. Focus on investing as you obviously know what crypto and defi are. Regardless of all the fud you see here we are all still in the tiny minority who knows what's up.
Only recently have I been able to successfully orange pill a couple normie friends. It's early and prices aren't going to get much better.

Keep your head up, stack LINK, sats, AI assets, and use good shitcoins like TRIAS to stack even more. And definitely don't quit to go retail.
You're better off staying where you are, doing what you know while you look for something better, than to start over at another shitty job. Stay in shape, stay positive, add a hobby to your routine or something. GMI.

My mom never had a portfolio. My dad had $40k in 2008, the firm managing his portfolio lost $20k, then my dad sold the other $20k for cash and never invested again after that.

>>55419797
