I don't know who any of these guys are. But the idea of taking a loan out using volatile coins seems a bit silly. It looks like the collateral would only cover a tiny fraction of a loan to be able to work, in which case the only reason to hold the coin is if it's volatile enough to possibly climb in price... but volatility is not a stable asset or wise investment. So taking a loan in an emergency is one thing, but why not just cash out the money? Otherwise you are risking far more money for a loan you don't need. If it's a ponzie scheme by the owners... they could simply lend tons of money for higher value coins. I imagine in a volatile market you'd have to have coins that would cover at least 5 times or more of the value of the loan just to be viable with BTC the way it is right now. So they lend out hundreds of millions of dollars... and then dump many more hundreds of millions of dollars worth of coins that they hold themselves to profit. Coins drop in value... these people default on their loans so they now sold the coins worth 5x as much as they lent out and now the coins are cheap to buy again so they either bail or try for another round pump n dump by saying there were flaws but they reworked the system. Hell, they could even let everyone keep half their coins just to keep them in and push them back around for a round two... the people that lost will pump it to try and get their money they lost back.

This is incredibley dumb for two reasons- having crypto as collateral when it's incredibley volatile is insane to start off with (and it's only 120% - bitshares uses 170% as collateral and still experienced defaults). But we can let that slide and have loans for people to hold crypto yet still use actual money on the side. The second reason this is dumbasf is that the token is just a way to pay for the right to get this loan. Why not just charge for the loan in fiat given you already charge interest? Why do you need a coin who's sole purpose s to pay for the RIGHT to get a loan.
