Yes, but you need to understand what you're signing up for. Are you commissioning or enlisting. That's the biggest difference in pay right there. Will you be Active or Guard/Reserve? Will you be living on post or off post? Do you have dependents? Military pay is pretty decent but if you're a Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, or IT admin you'll make more on the outside as a civilian.

You shut up. The pay is the same for every job. It goes by paygrade. Only certain specific job statuses give extra money, and it usually isn't much.

The only person i know that is in the military and basically not in poverty is a marine colonel, and hes a reservist with a while career outside the military.
