I made a million off my home sale. Since I moved here early 2000s I watched people constantly cash in and upgrade. There is so much wealth here though, you will always be a poor pleb. It's very hard to catch up with the people who got here before you. At this point, I would never recommend anyone to come here, it is so overpriced, it is basically commiefornia. Prices won't ever really come down, they will just stagnate until the next pump cycle.
