With Fed interest rates being so high, would it make sense to buy bonds now and expect to turn a profit in 8-12 months?

Let me get this straight -- Fidelity and Blackrock have announced plans to launch a BTC ETF and you're asking about bonds?

Serious question, and I don't mean any offense by this, but are you fucking retarded?

It's supposed to be an alternative to sitting on a pile of cash

How is this relevant? I think you misunderstand my point. BTC is not only the best preservation of purchasing power ever invented, but institutions such as Blackrock and Fidelity opening ETFs presents a once in a lifetime opportunity, with *relatively* low risk.

>>55344828
Lol, in my world, BTC is lower risk. Maybe check out the gold chart before and after the gold ETF was introduced. But it's up to you, I understand wanting less risk. Good luck keeping up with inflation and monetary expansion though.

Lmao, refer to the chart I referenced.
>Crypto is done for
First of all, Bitcoin is different than "crypto," and second of all, you realize this gets said every single bear market, right? How on your brain can you read news of institutional adoption and utter those words.

BTC is a commodity, not a security. The SEC and CFTC have already acknowledged this. Notice how BTC is not mentioned in any of the lawsuits.

Blackrock and Fidelity opening a Bitcoin ETF means institutional investors will finally have a way to safely buy and custody BTC. You don't think they want the same kinds of returns Michael Saylor and Microstrategy have had for the last 3 years? I'll go a step futher -- a spot ETF and more institutional investors means less volatility over time for BTC as the market cap grows. This is one of the key steps to BTC becoming a central bank reserve asset, the same way they hold gold. So I'm telling you now, it is only a matter of time before a central bank decides to put BTC on its balance sheet. If you want to miss that boat, by all means, help yourself.

It's genuinely humorous watching people react like this. It's like, there's a cliff 50 feet in front of you, and some BTC chad comes along and says "hey, there's a cliff 50 feet in front of you," and you guys go "haha btc dumb" and keep walking forward.

Bitcoin peaked with the Nasdaq in late 2021. We're in a bear market for speculative assets. Bitcoin's 2023 rally predictably mimics the Nasdaq's rally. BTC is moreorless leveraged Tech / speculative junk.

If the Nasdaq sinks 33% from here, Bitcoin will go along for the ride, it's just how it is.
