im neurotic and dont think i have ever stopped having multiple thoughts for more than a few seconds in my life. when i sit or lay down and try to meditate by focusing on my breathing or a sound it makes me extremely uncomfortable. my heart starts pounding hard and i have even MORE thoughts racing through my head

can anyone recommend a guided mediation program foe a retarded neurotic person who cant relax for 2 seconds? i tried some of the apps (headspace etc) and theyre very grating and annoying to me

i dont want something faggy or 'spiritual', and it cant be a zoomer chick talking with vocal fry lol. please help

I can tell you right off the bat that looking at meditation as a way to relax and escape is doomed. To get to the root of your chronic stress or neurosis, you need to be willing to sit with discomfort during your meditation practice. It isn't a band aid you can slap on your life as it is. It is a method of transformation and for that you need to be willing to work through some shit. If you just want some instant and easy relaxation take a fucking pill.

Ignore him. First response on self improvement threads is usually a negative glowie trying to discourage us

Mediating and unironically touching grass with my bare feet/skin has helped me not neck. Thank god for my dog and our walks in the park while I listen to these meditations. Dr Joe does a good job of telling us to sit down and fight that urge to get up.

^fucking fact. It's crazy isn't it. I had a self improvement thread actually miraculously gain traction once, and janitors just deleted it and banned me.

Meditation, as i understand it, is simply dissociating from your thoughts.
Just let the thoughts flow through you and don't pursue them or assign them value or weight.
Once you can unfocus consistently, it is a trainable skill, then you can progress to focused meditation.
You must learn to float before you can swim.

The best I’ve found for what sounds like a similar problem is to learn a body scan routine, essentially taking about 20 minutes to be aware of your whole body one inch at a time. When you get distracted just keep going back and moving your attention across your body. Couple that with a sensory deprivation tank (it takes several sessions to really sink into the experience because the mind doesn’t want to release at first).

Great advice anon.

I’m going to try this body scan, I could see why this would help build the awareness needed to stay in the meditative state of mind

There is no escape. Her blood curdling screams are muffled by the gelatinous mass of flesh overtaking her body. She has lost the will to fight. Her flesh and bone fuses with the creatures, becoming one. Nothing is left. Her begging for mercy was unanswered. Her soul now shares the fate with dozens of other victims...

/fit/ thread

>dont think i have ever stopped having multiple thoughts for more than a few seconds in my life.

Carnivore diet did it for me.

I now believe heavy carbs degrade my mental health and physical health, and as a consequence I was having intrusive thoughts, which in time became screaming voices with suicidal messages and visual flashes. After 4 mo full carnivore (also no alcohol, smokes or weed) my overall symptoms* receded, the thoughts and voices included. I hear them every once in a when having a tough week and when I eat like shit. When I'm full carnivore I feel reborn, and that nothing is impossible. It's harmless to try a diet change, as I believe its the source of a great deal of mental conditions. You can get rid of the internal mental health jew, anon.

among others*: joint pain, muscle twitches, hairloss, harsh throat, IBS, diarrhea every day, I gained weight, depression, anxiety, sinus blockage, I could smell again, vision improved.

Shit is fun but won't get voices out of you head. I find hiking very meditative. Today I went for a hike with my fren and we ran downhill on the way back. That was liberating.

Meditation is just sitting there with thoughts and deep breathing is the important part of it. Maybe look for a holotropic breathing style (wimhof does that too), that stuff is also very liberating from inner demons
