The sTRoNG labor data these Econ guys are referencing is outdated - since 2019. I can’t believe this. Why are they so incompetent?

I've been unemployed for 4 months now, going on 5 and the job hunt has been fucking brutal. A little over 130 applications and out of that bunch maybe 5-6 actual interviews.

It could also be based on industry/job role but I like to think I've got the experience to back up my claims to get hired. Last summer I was getting recruiter reaching out nonstop for cushy WFH jobs and now empty, the few I get are contract to hire or just contract roles with shit pay and worst of all is the absolute dogshit attitude these recruiters have. They know they got me by the balls so I can't even call em out on it.
>One showed up almost 30 minutes late to our scheduled call, didn't apologize, didn't acknowledge the tardiness...

I fucking hate corpos, HR, recruiters and the job hunt so much its unreal....

Every headline news outlet seems to be running some kind of disinformation campaign. Looking at the data there’s been a loss of 300k ppl in the workforce. Yet there all saying the complete opposite.

Well there's your problem. When I was unemployed I filled over 2000 applications over 7 months. Maybe if you actually tried you could get better results instead of sitting on your fat ass bitching about it.

I don't know about you guys, but I get recruiters messaging me almost daily on LinkedIn asking me to switch jobs. I'm a project manager in consulting.
Also we are continuing to hire here.

How the fuck are you finding 2000 different jobs in 7 months without spamming nonstop for just about everything? Maybe people are applying for specific things instead of everything from dishwasher to lead underwater basket weaver.

The job market died in 2008. The only people that have gotten good jobs since then that don't pay 2005 wages are people with connections, tech workers, children of business owners. Every other young person either died from drugs or works a soulless, dead end job praying that their meme investments will save them. And now even that small group of people that had good jobs is getting fucked too with all of the layoffs. Sorry, but technology has decided that you're worthless and obsolete.

Recruiters cannot GET you jobs. They're literally just there to filter out all the shit applications using a special software and then they just forward your application to the firm looking for new employees.

for what its worth there are actually less open college level jobs than there are college graduates. The ones that are constantly understaffed are the fields that no one majors in and don't just want a generic degree. Underemployment has been a big thing since the last decade. Go talk to any retail manager even from the recovery and see how many of them had advanced degrees.
