A fundamental difference about ICP that you need to understand is that it isn't immutable in the sense that smart contracts expire if they don't get cycles, whereas on ETH for instance smart contracts never expire. This has to do with ICP's reverse gas model. Consequently, ICP is not competing with any EVM chain or similar like Hedera, because they're fundamentally for different purposes. I like to think of ICP as a front-end to ETH or Hedera, which would be backends for various financial systems.
