I'm not sure if they actually sold the shares to a specific party or if b Riley was free to just dump as many shares as possible on the market for several weeks. Iirc some old doc that referred to only 400ish million voting shares and that confused me but the recent filing doesn't specify voting or non-voting so I have the sinking feeling there may be no difference between any of the shares and a real float of 739m voting shares.

I'm also somewhat cautious about most of the value riding on $3.5b NOL because that requires shareholders to trust the leadership will keep the company alive and profitable long enough to realize the value.

Last I checked there were 48m shares shorted iirc. That would be a tiny bit over 10% of 428m or about 6.5% of 739m. I think a squeeze would require some really particular circumstances, that's another reason I'm focused on trying to figure out the actual assets and liabilities of the company, which should give a rough lower bound on theoretical company value.

My thinking for this stock is that before yesterday's 10 K, it looked to my really rough estimation that the company already got down to neutral or slightly more assets than liabilities before taking into account the potential value of a baby sale, which I figured could add an extra $2b in cash for shareholders and then shut down bbby... Imo that would mean each shareholder would have gotten something like $2.7 per share, more than 10x from here. And that was my estimate of the case where nobody wants the company so baby gets sold off and the rest just dies. That's my lower bound assuming Cohen was right about baby having value and the board doesn't screw us by selling baby cheap.
