SOXL has produced gains despite the vol decay, but the vol decay is objectively a negative. Cost of leverage is also much higher than it was the past decade, but I doubt you understand how the total return swaps that SOXL holds function.

It's incredibly unlikely that the next 10 years will be as generous for semiconductor companies as the last 10 so this entire discussion is fairly pointless. There are limits to scale. However, even if conditions remain bullish, there are far better plays than SOXL.

At 200x earnings, NVDA could see 10x revenue growth over the next decade while maintaining margins and it would still be sitting at a P/E of 20, with zero change in share price. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if its valued at several trillion in the mid-2030s, but that's still only about 12% CAGR over a decade.
Anyway, we can only know for sure after the end of these next 10 years whether any bullish factors today carry over to further valuation gains. To be specific, gains must exceed the risk free rate (currently 5%) to produce any real alpha. And for SOXL in particular, those gains must be substantial enough to overcome the hurdle of vol decay and the 1% management fee, and any other tracking errors. As a reminder, anyone who believed in the long term permabull case for SOXL back in 2021 is currently down 40-60%+.
I'd rather just continue to swing trade when I see extremes. The days of easy buy and hold gains are gone.

after that i can follow my weight and when it goes up too much i can just hop on another fast for like 3 weeks.
i can also do sports or go to the gym before i eat the first meal and it has zero impact on my performance.
if i feel tired or weak then i will eat something cos i know im doing too much. but that happens rarely since the weekends offset it.
