Algorand's problem is it doesn't do anything new. Same goes for almost all smart contract chains. They do smart contracts with tiny amounts of data in them and quibble about who is more decentralized or who does more transactions per second. Important things, yes, but not original and compelling new usecases. BTC gave us sovereign electronic cash (became digital gold because it's too slow and expensive), XMR gave us anonymous electronic cash, ETH made blockchain programmable in a practical sense and Algorand did what exactly?
