this dumb comment only makes sense in the stock market where it takes weeks for a stock to move 1%. in crypto 1min candles are fine because they show you 2% movements in one candle. now shut the fuck up and stop regurgitating what you read on reddit.

This is what I dont understand....Literally every exchange where people do this has been caught red handed, when first discovered, authorities do nothing so the scam continues...everyone is warned, and then shortly after we get a sea of people complaining about scam wicks....yet there is an easy solution, either use a DEX that offers perpetuals (there are so fucking many now that support every fucking chain) or just dont play leverage (you will still outperform stocks if you arent straight up retarded). If everyone shunned the scam exchanges(all of them) then crypto would suddenly skyrocket and anyone holding will make far more from just holding than they could have ever made with leveraged trades...its so damn simple. Learn to use leverage for its original intention: to offset risk, use it as insurance if you must use it at all.

>> No.55253130

>>55253050
what do I mean by this? Its simple. Lets say you have a 1BTC position. You decide you arent a complete retard and will simply hold the token in a cold wallet. You realize that there will be volatility and will not care much about the price swings...but number go down=bad so you decide to get yourself 'insurance' for if the price goes down...you do this by opening a leveraged short (you can pick the leverage x by understanding implied volatility over the time you want to buy the insurance for). You decide on your leverage X and purchase enough of the short position to equal 1BTC. Now you watch things during your chosen time if the price goes up, you get liquidated(or stopped) and the loss is chalked up to be the "price of insurance" for that time. If it goes down, you close your short and collect the money, which should be equal to the amount your stack of BTC goes down(because you made sure to understand the implied volatility and leveraged accordingly) ...you then purchase more BTC with it, and end up with the same $$ amount but more BTC than before. Now rinse and repeat...this is a very common tactic in investing that you fucking retards seem to know nothing about. Do learn about this tactic...it takes a bit of knowledge and understanding to pick out the correct leverage and time interval to keep the position open, but there are plenty of resources out there on this, you just have to translate things into crypto.

And dont forget, stay off the fucking central exchanges while doing this, use something like unidex or deus for your perpetuals, its much cheaper, much safer, and much less prone to manipulation by central authorities.

did I say to invest in any tokens? No I said for you to use a tool. You retards need to understand the difference between investing in a shitcoin (not defi) and using a financial tool(defi). Tokens do not automatically =/= defi. Think of defi as swaps, lending networks, perpetual networks, etc. Think tools, not tokens. This is where they try to trick you.

Now if you want to talk about something like the veracity of something like WBTC on any of the EVM based networks, thats a whole other conversation, especially because we have seen WBTC type tokens depeg once the lies about how that token is backed come to light (think the solana BTC). If something like a perpetual dex has been battle tested and proven to be safe (obviously its an exercise in diligence) then trading the volatility on something, would be safe to do there...you realize there is a difference in trading the volatility vs trading the token, right?

Then maybe find a better dex? Literally one of the points of defi over cifi are the broad range of choices. There is also tech in place by some of these dexes(more and more are offering) that aim to prevent front runners. Also, why the fuck arent you using slippage properly? Plenty of dexes atm offering under .1% fees. Perpetual fees run around the same, somewhere around .1% of the trade. Aside from having lower fees that most CEXs, you also dont run the risk of not being able to withdrawal your money, not having the cex liquidation hunt you and others....Even if what youre saying is true about the fees(its provably not) is it not worth it to spend a tiny bit more on trades to ensure they arent being manipulated? Anyone who tries to steer people clear of "defi" like its some big bag single entity, instead of an ideal of having the system distributed, and therefore harder to manipulate by any single entity, is not looking out for your well being.
