+1 for mentioning Silver at all. The usual arguement I make is PMs are manipulated even more so than fiat. Silver is particulary low in price and has been for decades.
>Gold is scalable
no its not, silver is. Gold is for rich people high dollar amounts and silver is for most transactions. I think the problem here is you imagine it was just better because it is physical. There are certainly issues of manipulation with btc. The issue with gold/silver is we have already wasted our shot on that scam. You have come out with a new scam that hasn't ripped everyone off yet. Gold has failed so many times. Money is 80% psychological confidence game.

>Why do we need Bitcoin for that? Could just used Gold or Silver.
Do you know the history of money and how it works? A sound currency is one that has a high stock to flow ratio. Gold has this property (silver doesn't), which is why gold was used as the basis for currency for many many years.
Eventually instead of using physical gold for every transaction (quite a laborious thing to do considering how heavy gold is), they started using the gold-standard (ie. the gold no longer had to be moved for every transaction, instead dollars backed by gold were exchanged for each transaction). This was done under the condition that the money could be exchanged for the gold at any time. Kinda works for individual citizens but what about central banks that want to settle their transactions? They'd have to transfer tons of gold thousands of miles across land or sea whenever they wanted settlement. In addition to costing a lot of money, it's also time-intensive.
Bitcoin also has a high stock to flow ratio (much higher than gold's, mind you). However, another advantage of Bitcoin is that it is much easier to complete settlements with it than with physical gold (you can settle millions of dollars for a tx with an overseas counterparty in minutes, compared to weeks for gold). Add in the fact that it is extremely easy to verify the authenticity of Bitcoin compared to gold, and it becomes extremely obvious why Bitcoin works much better than gold to be used as the backing of money. ie. Bitcoin Standard > Gold Standard.

Can all you clowns talking about gold-backed money and BTC-backed money just pause what you're doing and go watch The Money Masters.

How many times does it need to be made clear: the international money power has always controlled the bullion supply, so obviously they favor gold-based currencies because such systems are theirs to manipulate. Same with Bitcorn. Fiat money is not the problem, just look at the Tally Stick which worked wonders for the English for centuries until the (((Bank of England))) put an end to that.

This is not to say that Bitcorn and Gold won't see significant gains in years to come, just that it's delusional boomer nonsense to imagine that these represent some kind of "true" and "pure" monetary system "'of the people".
