As someone that has enough cash to buy a property (I live with my parents), I have been keenly interested in this, and left unamused with every "MUH HOUSE PRICE SINKING!" followed by "MUH HOUSE PRICE RISING!" articles the next day.

After 10 years of bull market it takes some time for sellers to realize their new position.
On the way up prices also didn't just jump to high numbers all of a sudden.
