i honestly can't believe that vr is not only still a fucking meme but that these big companies are putting shitloads of money in on the r&d to make these thingsm in spite of its meme status. the original oculus rift had a commercial release 8 years ago and the only uses for vr are still just porn, video games, and porn video games where you can move your head around and the camera follows. their presentation boiled down to "imagine you could watch tv without a tv " and "imagine you could use the computer without using a computer". it's a fucking $3500 toy

Oh silly me I meant to type APLE you know Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc.

>Apple Hospitality REIT Inc is a real estate investment trust that invests in income-producing real estate, primarily in the lodging sector, in the United States. It chiefly invests in upscale service hotels. All of the company's hotels operate under the Marriott or Hilton brands. Apple Hospitality has wholly-owned taxable REIT subsidiaries, which lease all of the company's hotels from wholly-owned qualified REIT subsidiaries. These hotels are managed under separate agreements with various hotel management companies that are unaffiliated with Apple Hospitality. The company derives its income from hotel revenue, its sole segment.

Exactly like when the iphone came out : too expensive, low battery life. Same as portable computers for years.

The fact that they came with a product which doesn't look cheap / gaming fags like previous VR is a huge gap for me.

I don't own any TV and don't plan to buy any but I think one day I could like to watch a good movie like Dune with a good VR set good sound, high quality etc. Sounds a lot better than a crappy TV in the middle of the wall.
Software related, not so sure just yet, could be clunky still idk. Could be nice but too early to tell.
But on the movie experience I totally see myself doing what they push in the clip.

I would argue it's all just declassified military tech repurposed for the goys. And the financial markets got the tech first. >The video game crash of 1983 (known as the Atari shock in Japan) was a large-scale recession in the video game industry that occurred from 1983 to 1985, primarily in the United States. The crash was attributed to several factors, including market saturation in the number of video game consoles and available games, many of which were of poor quality, as well as waning interest in console games in favor of personal computers. Home video game revenues peaked at around $3.2 billion in 1983, then fell to around $100 million by 1985 (a drop of almost 97 percent). The crash abruptly ended what is retrospectively considered the second generation of console video gaming in North America. To a lesser extent, the arcade video game market also weakened as the golden age of arcade video games came to an end.

>Lasting about two years, the crash shook a then-booming video game industry and led to the bankruptcy of several companies producing home computers and video game consoles. Analysts of the time expressed doubts about the long-term viability of video game consoles and software.

>The North American video game console industry recovered a few years later, mostly due to the widespread success of Nintendo's Western branding for its Famicom console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), released in 1985. The NES was designed to avoid the missteps that caused the 1983 crash and the stigma associated with video games at that time.

Nintendo had to essentially trick retailers into selling NES systems with Duck Hunt and Rob the Robot. Because the crash was so damaging to the reputation of home councils. Atari just straight up threw away millions of copies of games because no one wanted them.

Boy you are gonna get ruined by the market long term if you think businesses can't get displaced. Apple isn't going to 0 or some gay shit but it can get left in the dust just like tons of top companies have.

Sears and Kodak were once considered to big too fail and must buys then one day they weren't and they never came back to their previous relevance. Not saying this is the death of Apple but this is a chink in the armor for sure.

U til they can mKe actuay fun games and media that are more fun on VR than just playing it normally, or completely cant be enjoyed any other way and there is some breakout success in that department VR and AR arent going anywhere much no matter how much these companies try at it. AR and VR seem and sound and look like such good ideas but nobody has made anything super compelling for it yet except maybe beatsaber and that didnt have broad appeal. meanshile shit like regular videogames were an immediate success with people lining up i classrooms at unis to play them. its really just not the same. It's probably never going to be the next Moving Pictures of Video Games or Radio. if it were it would have taken off much harder by now and it simply hasnt, neither in sales or in media created for it. its all shovelware or gimmicks that people play for a few hours and forget

We’ve gotta pop by the market, Dump SPY. It's gonna be a nice one too.
>The what? Dump SPY? What do we need to dump SPY for?
Why in the hell do you think we just pumped all that money on SPY? The whole point of pumping SPY in the first place is to get the holders nice and tipsy topside, so we can take em to a nice comfortable place below deck, and you know… they can’t sell. Because of the implication.
>Oh, uh… okay. You had me going there for the first part. The second half kind of threw me.
Dude, dude, think about it. The investor is in the middle of a Bear Market with some ETF they barely understand. The investor looks around and what do they see? Nothing but red seas. “Ahhh, there’s nowhere for me to run. What am I going to do? Sell?”
>Okay… that seems really dark.
Nah, it’s not dark. You’re misunderstanding me bro.
>I think I am.
Yeah, you are. Because if the investor wanted to sell, then the answer is obviously sell.
>No. Right.
But the thing is they're not going to sell. They would never sell. Because of the implication.
>Now… you’ve said that word, “implication” a couple of times. What implication?
The implication that things might go wrong for them if they decide to sell SPY. Not that things are going to go wrong for them, but they're thinking that they will.
>But it sounds like they don’t want to sell SPY?
Why aren’t you understanding this?

Was reading an older but goodie hentai doujin late last night. (3 chapters) Dude has an disease where if he don't get a girl's pussy juice smeared on his cock he'll die. This must happen least once a month. So in desperation he asks his friend if his friend's girlfriend will uh squirt into a bottle and let him use it. Being the good kind girl she is, she agrees to it but hates the idea of doing it all the same. Another girl overhears this conversation (all of them are in a public area) and decides to help. So the girl's and the girl's boyfriend all conspire. The juice that the dude ends up using isn't the girlfriend's, he just assumes it is. Dude and the girl donating the juice get feelings with each other. Dude passes out cause he don't want any pussy juice but the girl he likes. The girl ends up "raping" the passed out dude to save his life. He thinks it was all a dream. After he comes to he realizes what she did and they start dating. Later they all come clean about the whole juice swap deal.
