Permapoorfag here.
I don't really stack much.
I'll never be rich, but that isn't my goal.
I just want to contribute my 10 oz as 10oz COMEX doesn't have.
I buy Goldbacks purely to encourage the states that have them to make more.
I do it out of pure malice to the Establishment.
The only reason I ever needed.

So I've had this thought about gold and premiums.

Obviously there's way more premium on smaller fractions BUT, it seems like you can just push on the same premium to whoever you sell it to as long as you're patient / not just selling it to a pawn shot / LCS.

So wouldn't that mean that it basically doesn't matter what fraction you're buying at as long as you're not getting a raw deal on premiums found within that particular weight range.

Daily reminder that Pre-33 gold is approximately 100x less gay than modern bullion from any country outside of South Africa. All modern bullion was minted as part of an embargo against apartheid-era South Africa and to reduce the popularity of the krugerrand. Modern bullion is a vote for the globohomo. Pre-33 on the other hand was made illegal by the globohomosexual Roosevelt.

>even silverware and plates are worth more as items than their scrap value. its pretty rare to find scrap that is totally useless and only worth its weight in metal. people look for missing forks or plates to complete their sets all the time and pay a good premium for it

Lots of vintage/antique silver is monogrammed, and in most cases those monograms destroy any potential premium value. I advocate saving the higher quality or valuable silverware and jewelry but for at least half to 2/3rds of items the time investment put into polishing, photographing, listing, waiting for the perfect buyer, then packaging and shipping isn't worth the premium (if any) one keeps after fees. If you look at actual sales data instead of asking prices you'll see what I mean. I like hoarding the superior items because it makes me feel like a viking warlord or pirate to have kilos of jewelry and around 100lbs of quality silverware but to be honest probably half of it isn't really worth more than melt.

Yes, the same is also true for silver premiums. Only the most stupid or desperate sell at or below spot. I still think more is generally better but only to a degree. Same, I fell in love with silver when I was 5 and introduced to coin collecting by my dad and grandfather. I also remember sneaking into the china cabinet to play with antique heirloom sterling lol. I was introduced to gold at the same time but it never resonated the same way. It's good to have of course, it can't be denied how much more it's worth to billions of people, but when I dream of finding treasure it's almost always old silver coins.

When I first saw some at a coin show my dad took me to as a kid I was smitten, nothing more kino than high relief ancients. I didn't know what it was back then but the dealer had a Philip II of Macedon tetradrachm stuffed in a flip and jammed in a coin binder page, both entirely inadequate to contain such a chonky nugget, looked like a hulk about to bust out and smash all the more modern flat plebcoins nearby. The thickness and sculptural dimensionality of the coin really seared itself in my memory.

I doubt the shift will be sudden. Rapid shocks to supply chains are bad for just about everybody. No, the gradual shift is already underway:
>heavy inflation
>BRIC countries moving way from USD in favor of other mediums of exchange to handle oil trade
>central banks stockpiling gold
>CBDC rollouts rumored to be backed by gold (lol, remember bretton woods was only TEMPORARY anyway)

PMs, most notably gold, has always stood the test of time. Saying it is true wealth is like saying water is wet, and the supply of gold is relatively stable. The fait of all fiat is to become worthless. USD is on its way.

Is the Garrett ACE 400 worth it (versus the 200 or 300) for finding precious metals and ferrous antiques in the woods and mapping underground wires and gas line in my yard? What accessories are worthwhile? There are some package deal on Amazon that have the Pro-Pointer and a bunch of other stuff. I don't know anything about metal detectors except that they detect metal.

Bro I'm pretty sure the government ran out of old 90% Gold to melt by this point, the US has always had a hard time keeping our gold coins circulating in the US border even BEFORE 1933. The amount of surviving old US gold is so insignificant you aren't going to drain anything buying it but your wallet. Besides, it's not Gold currently being mined or stored by Comex, it can more or less be treated as a completely different entity.

I'm still alive and now I'm unbanned, remember to never make derogatory remarks about the people who rule you.

2023 Prospectors artwork was finalized and waiting on the sample for that now. 2023 Crusaders artwork now waiting on the first draft from the mint. Expecting early July fulfillment for that depending on how well we like what they send back to us. Delays are solely my fault.

Still waiting until the Crusader is entirely fulfilled before starting the next coin, but I'm still leaning towards the Pirate Apu. Not sure what both sides should be but there's plenty of time to get the next one figured out.

Will also have the new Cave Explorer mats on the store Monday with the thicker material quality and stitched edge. Will also get any Boomer coins that were part of an order shipped.

If I missed any emails please don't hesitate to contact me again. Apologies as always for the delays, entirely my fault. I don't know why but I've been in an incredible funk the last few months and the threads going to shit has been sad to see.

Why don't YOU take a look at the inflation adjusted price of gold starting in 1986 when the first American gold eagles were actually released until 1991 when apartheid was abolished? The price actually went UP for several years and then settled back to almost the exact price it held at the time of first release. The quantity of gold sold in the government bullion programs has never been enough to influence spot price.

So much for your theory.

What do you guys think of le scientists who say mining gold will be unprofitable by 2050?
Do you think this means that gold availabile will moon? And won't that make it profitable to mine again?
I have also been reading similar about silver, at a much sooner date. 2030-40 Again, wouldn't this make it profitable to mine once more if value increases?
It seems like these 'scientists' are brainlets who haven't even considered future value but perhaps it is me who is the brainlet.
This is something i would like to know. Whether i am a brainlet or not, financially speaking.

I probably have over ten thousand dollars just in nickels alone. Maybe close to a thousand or two in pennies (copper and zinc separated and unsearched rolls), seven hundred in quarters because i like looking for pristine eagle quarters. One ton of silver on the spot plus or minus a few pounds. Maybe five or six hundred ounces of gold. Five ounces of platinum kek. Thirty two revolvers kept around my house, with three extended barrel glocks. An assortment of automatic at's with drum mags. Two m60's one of which saw light action in the vietnam war when we whooped Australias ass. An m249 with a trunnion mount to mount into a folding tripod on the back of my ranger. A trusty ford ranger. Oh and about 550k sitting in petrobrasil. That should cover all my assets aside from gibson explorers, chevelle ss, a camaro from 1668 with a fully rebuilt engine, a crown victoria, and a toyota celica iii 4wd. Come at me my home has abrasive discs lining it sandwhiched between thick steel plate, my door has reinforced hinges with a U hook for droppeding a pair of planks to prevent the door from opening. If you stand at my doorstep unwelcome for long enough, an unpleasant radiation burn will form as the water in your brain is boiled from the silver plated triple magnetrons send 3600 watts of microwave oven power straight to your dome.

I go coin roll hunting for quarters and have only found 2 in my life it seems they've been drained out bretty gud. That's why I like the copper ones, it is still rewarding to yank those out of circulation. Plus If i bring them to my semi local lcs shop, they sell silver at half price if paid in coppers pennies. I still like to get quarters too because it forces laundromats to have to call up the banks who then haveto call up the mint to make more coins.

Most economists don't even understand true economics, let alone some "scientist". The only way mining gold becomes unprofitable is if some new source appears that makes gold easily abundant. If gold was as abundant as water, it would not make sense to mine it. Otherwise, it will continue to be mined.

I fear something similar for the US. I always find canada pennies of zinc and copper too, quite infrequent but hard to call rare. Unironically it would be funny to see the US churn out coinage of value again, alongside steel pennies, 5 cent copper pennies, and 50 cent nickels with the quarter planchetd now saying $1. Then a bronze coin of tin instead of manganese brass will be the $5 coin. I wonder how it would be in value to silver then, because in terms of copper, nickel, zinc, and tin, and silver the ratios are almost 1000:10:1 or at least somewhat close.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Correct. The epoxy granite comhined with chunks is pretty difficult to cut or even drill through. Diamond discs will get through but a lot slower than they would be cutting through just steel alone of the same thickness. A lot slower. I saw the box almost done it looks great and your great grandchildren will enjoy its treasure.

Use this catalog to look for your modern Greek coinage:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/greece-1.html
You can use filters to sort by alloy and such. Each coin's page will have information such as mintages, melt value and silver weight if applicable.
https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/
This may also help.

Both of these websites should be added to the OP. They contain very important information pertaining to world gold and silver.

Whelp, just ordered a little over $300 on antibiotics and antifungals, along with a paperback book on the subject.
Since I absolutely refused to wear the mask during and after the great hoax, I got a taste of what it would be like to have to be somewhat self reliant as far as health care goes. Got a nasty fungal infection (Sporotrichosis) due to the nature of my job. Vitamins wouldn't do shit, and left untreated would lead to irreversible tissue damage. Antifungals were the only treatment.
>you won't get the coof
if you don't have a weak mind and don't believe everything the media tells you.

I'm healthy and never got any fake and gay coof. Having meds on hand for myself, loved ones, or neighbors seems like a good idea. You may think otherwise, but that's just because you have a room temperature IQ and suck dick as a hobby.

We have a LOT of silver and gold in known deposits, but most of those known deposits are far to small or poor to be commercially viable. Silver is most often mined today as a byproduct credit from massive open pit copper mining, porphyry type deposits, with a few large high grade silver mines operating as well. Gold is different, it shows up with loads of other elements and on its own, but its the same situation as silver for the most part.

We will have to start looking at older silver mines from the turn of the century soon, but for now we have quite a number of mines that can boost production to meet demand.
