HBAR bros, how are we holding up?
Who's excited for community nodes finally happening next week? I'm expecting a big pump.

Q2 ends in 32 business days. I think they'll just push it back on the schedule again.

>> No.55140030

yea, this will be great for the new centralization FUD.

>> No.55140081

hey, so, what's in it for you for running a community node anyways?
e.g. I get that the benefit could be your node would have more throughput, so different nodes may have better or worse rewards.
but why wouldn't you just be flexible and use proxy staking, jumping between council nodes that have the most 'work' happening on them.

>> No.55140565

would running a node give you more over standard staking?

>> No.55140820

>>55138500
Always will be bullish, Mance said community nodes coming this year, followed by permissionless nodes once all GC spots filled, which makes sense. Id also assume that at least 80% of GC usecases will have to be live as to ensure a high enough tps.

>>55140565
Yes. Staking is easy, you press two buttons, while running a node has some requirements, like gamer tier processor, 1gbit internet and 16GB RAM, so you need to invest something in it. Nobody yet knows how many HBAR you need for your node.

>>55140565
We will only know that once permissionless staking comes out. Until then it's all speculation. But it will be very likely that the operators of nodes will take a larger cut than they will give to those who stake to them.

that's a great point.
when we introduce community nodes, we won't be able to just shut everything down when we get hacked again.
if I remember right, we don't have a concept of slashing on hedera.
