Easy fuckers.
NASDAQ will start crypto custody in June. This is just a transfer of crypto to the existing financial system before it really takes off. Hope you don't mind. Please bear with us as we make improvements.

"The realization of the project will start with safekeeping the leading cryptocurrencies, bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH), before expanding the array of services offered by the group’s digital assets division. The plan is to eventually provide execution for financial institutions."

>The ONLY thing they can do is ban the CEX
how about a 30% excise tax on all PoW?
any PoS is classified as a security, needs to register and provide the appropriate disclosures.
CEX's have a clear conflict of interest and opportunity for fraud, they should operate as the traditional market, with exchanges, brokers, and clearing houses all as separate entities, to protect investors.
CEX's should also be held accountable for facilitating the sale of unregistered securities.
getting rid of CEX's, as they exist today, will remove most fiat on ramps for cryptocurrency markets.
also the US govt strong armed silvergate bank to shut down, targeted attacks against banks that work with cryptocurrency markets.
what's next?
well, about the only thing left is to fuck up stable coins, like tether.
I'm not sure if btc ordinals was a government pysop, I think it was, but it could just be the bitcoin community is full on retarded.
There is a coin they will allow to win though, it's called 'Hedera'.

The government is trying to reign in crypto and only the ones they deem worthy will be allowed in the future. Don't you fins it odd that there has been essentially catastrophic things happening to crypto lately? Ordinals proving the btc network can be clogged at will, ledger and the idea that hardware wallets are no longer safe, MiCa in the EU. The aystem is being torn down in such a way that everyone will truly be on a level playing field. It is hilarious watching the SEC stonewall coinbase.

btc doesn't get a pass.
because no one 'owns' a proof of work network, it's difficult to 'shut down' those flavors of crypto.
so instead they just work to make it cost prohibitive, a high excise tax, clog the network for higher fees, work with cold wallet providers to give a backdoor, later on maybe introduce regulation for the max amount of energy people can use to mine per year etc.

*likely* to crash the crypto market, but not necessarily.
US traders invest the largest dollar amounts per person, so it's going to be a pretty major loss of liquidity.
technically just means higher volatility, but likely a crash.

good, crypto is a massive scam that could have been useful but it's no different than a bunch of niggers on gofundme collecting money with words.

Banning it will make Bitcoin and other PoW chains worth as a store of value and everything else, shitcoins will all plummet.

PoS should be banned indefinitely because if any mintable shitcoin should exist, it should only be the dollar.

What would they need to do to even come close to this as a goal?

Personally I can only see a solution would be the total economy collapsing absorb all the banks under one bank kind of route there is probably more but I don't have time to research what it would take. I would like to think they're bluffing but it's the govt and the more stupid it sounds the more likely it's going to be tried by the govt.
