Definitely expensive, but it looks nice. And you can tell the difference between good and shit grass seed once it starts to grow. Especially if you use cheap seeds only in one patch of the lawn, that patch will look different and look shitty compared to the rest of the lawn. This will be my 3rd summer of homeownership, I've laid down 1 to 2 $90 bags of seed each year. But after this year I think I can finally chill on the overseeding for a while.

why even plant grass. It's a useless cover material unless you're planning on farming cows.
If you're above New York, plant the entire garden full of potatoes and onions. Potatoes have the magical ability to literally keep coming back unless you're Irish.
If you're further South just plant tomatoes and peppers. Literally free food. Just set up a simple frame for the tomatoes and let them do their thing. I'm currently the proud owner of 20 tomato plants whom almost died twice now as I forgot to water them. Stupid plants needing water and shiet.

Just wait a year. Grass grows everywhere.
But I'm telling you friend, plant actual food. It's easy and cheap. Hell if you're actually lazy plant chives. That stuff grows everywhere, looks like grass, and you can just eat it.
Plant onions and potatoes and destroy the grocery jew.

You get taxed less since all trades give you a 60/40 long/term capital gains no matter how long you're in and out, you get access to interest rate derivatives directly rather than needing to buy short treasury ETFs, you can get out of a trade overnight if some crazy shit happens on the other side of the world, there are no dark pools or payment for order flow, your trades actually go straight to the exchange, you can trade VIX contracts with much more granularity since you're buying the actual contract and not a constant maturity pseudo contract ETF that rebalances daily fucking you with volatility decay. Interesting, along with the section 1256 contracts tax treatment. I dont personally see myself needing interest rate derivatives at my level of wealth, but good to know too. I may start getting my feet wet in the next few months. I read an old options book that talks about options on the futures contracts. Are those listed options tradable in a futures account? In my regular brokerage I can access VIX calls and puts if I wanted to. But that's spot VIX I believe, not future VIX. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Options on VIX futures are handled differently than buying and selling the futures contracts directly and sadly are subject to the PDT rule. That said, VIX options for a given expiration date are de facto linked to that month's futures contract so that's where you need to look for the underlying price when calculating fair value for the option. He'd snuff him in his braces just to switch the station to BGO
He kept a punch line every lunch break, lunch time
And this is no time to pump fake, it's crunch time
The same split second, they let off the toast
THATS WHEN HE HIT THE SPEED DIAL AND SPED OFF, GHOST
I know those cats don't like V
And if they took my head off they'd get off most likely
And probably thought the time gizmo was my WALLET
And hit the hills, no, forty more times on some foul shit
Pick a crime, he was out in the nick of time
To get paid another day and live to kick a sicker rhyme
For iller, it's like Miller malt liquor time
Up town finery where it's probably not best to flaunt
Everyone's your best friend, V steps into the restaurant
"My friend," he said, "You must be psychic"
"What's the price of- "Fourteen! It’s good, you like it!"
Huh, be back tonight
The fourteen G pack was really packed tight
But back at the lab he found the Sleestak was right
Not only was it three cracks light, but too white
The test show lactose, anbesol, lecithin
Five types of aspirin and other kinds of medicines
Next time I'll bring my men who speak Mexican
And let the Techs spin, make 'em contact the next of kin

Viktor Vaughn tells a story about manipulating time and space in order to buy some cheap cocaine. [BEWARE: Spoiler in the next sentence.] Ultimately, Vaughn’s sci-fi-like efforts are foiled when he discovers that the cheap coke he purchased had been cut with weak over-the-counter white powders like lactose, aspirin, and lecithin, to name a few. The twist-ending reveals why the song is named “Lactose and Lecithin”. The song’s content and narrative conclusion are also a reflection of MF DOOM’s character Viktor Vaughn’s eagerness, greed, and inexperience as a young, aspiring villain.

Hear ye, hear ye! How dare ye
Go up against the king who do his thing tri-yearly?
They too carefree with their mouths around here
Off with his head, and display it at Town Square
On top a seven-feet spike, make sure it's on tight
In light of when the peasants throw stones with all their might
Skull get smashed for weeks
'Til vulture beaks eats the last meat off the cheeks
Maybe then they'll know the right words to speak
Out loud, at home, in the world, or in the streets
There's no escape, just in case
All the kings' mens and 'em decides to go apes
The most slick-talking of burly guys
Get caught early and boiled in oil like curly fries
Even those that's Mr. Furley's size that earned the fate
Can all get burned at the stake

We claim his throne, his providence, and its citizens

Equities from all the major economies (ex China) more or less correlate. More so now than ever before considering how large companies have evolved to global conglomerates. If you want "diversification" you're better off looking for it in the strategies you use to trade in and out of equities. Allocate some money to trend following, some to swing trading, some to swinging VIX ETFs, maybe some energy and precious metals too. A tiny bit to crypto too since you never know. Also what the other anon said, BIL is paying a nice risk free dividend right now so consider that

VIX will continue to fall suckering more retailers into the market. When order flow shows the inflow slowing to a trickle and hedgers dropping most of their puts the hammer will drop. Timed to coincide with the debt ceiling so as to provide cover the markets will drop precipitously. Around the time it looks like we're bottoming out again, some bad "news" will be released to the CNBC and Marketwatch stooges, some celebrity hedge fund manager like Bill Ackman will come out with crocodile tears telling retail it really is over this time and to sell sell, Reddit sell at which point the market will capitulate completely then the powers that be will scoop up everyone's bags and pump it all back to all time high leaving retailers with nothing. When markets pump all the way up more news will be released about how this is the golden bull run that can't be stopped and to buy, buy Reddit buy and when everyone is fully invested at the top, the trap will be sprung again plunging the markets down. What you have to do is buy MBS which contain your mortgage and then cancel the debt on it. You'd lose some thousands on the MBS yield, but the money shaved off your mortgage would more than compensate for it.

So when the market dumps this time we're all gonna buy the dip by going all in ZIVB right? The the new ETF that shorts mid-term VIX futures. It works by spreading itself over the 4th-7th VIX futures months with a weighted average constant maturity of 153 days. Much less risky than SVIX or SVXY and since mid-term VIX futures are in contango more often than the front months you will be more likely to make money at any given time. VIX futures are a way of buying and selling future uncertainty and the future is almost always more uncertain than the present. So if you're selling uncertainty high and buying uncertainty low then the math inexorably works in your favor. It's the perfect trade. Just wait for the VIX term structure to go into backwardation then go all in. When VIX goes back into steep contango, get out and wait for the next opportunity. You'll get a big trade every few weeks like clockwork. I hope you guys don't pass this one up

That's the equity curve of a short on the 2nd month VIX futures rolled every month and held since 2020. Even though equities got rekt in 2022, volatility shorts actually did really well and greatly outperformed SPY, QQQ, etc. I expect this outperformance in short volatility to continue. The markets are unlikely to resume the massive QE and ZIRP fueled bull run that went on from 2009 to 2020 since interest rates are likely to remain high and QT is happening. However, the major unanticipated shocks to the market are receding further in the rear view mirror as evidenced by the VIX currently below its long term average of 20 points. I believe this will continue for some time barring the occasional panic over nothing that spikes the VIX to 25-30 which only serves to provide more opportunities to short. The upshot is the short vol trade is green lit and should be taken advantage of. It likely will pay better than long equities and mid-term volatility shorts are the safest version of the trade hence ZIVB

I wait for those spikes to put the short on actually. When VIX drops back down I take the short off. This cycle I've been flat since April 17th but I'm anticipating a pop up in volatility soon so I can put it back on. When I'm in between trades like right now and VIX is particularly low I day trade long VIX futures. I never hold those for long though and I'm very careful to only put them on when the technicals are near perfect. To put a finer point on it, I swing trade short VIX futures. When volatility spikes high and the VIX term structure goes into backwardation I start looking for a short position and I go in deep then hold it until volatility comes back down then I take it off. Wash rinse repeat. The trick is to not get caught short when VIX decides to pump to 80 again. Two ways to deal with this. Either have a stop or never put on a short position big enough to liquidate your account should VIX pump that high. Also shorting VIX mid-term makes it much less likely you get liquidated in a volatility spike
