Thunderstruck Resources is a fucking terrible company btw. And it seems the company's management is posting on the ceo dot ca board. There is at least one or two pumpers there that are likely part of the company. Last time I looked at the company it was engaged in a lawsuit with their drilling contractor who sued them. I don't remember the whole debacle but I in fact contacted the contractor on LinkedIn before he sued them after hearing something about these issues, and we had a little back and forth. IIRC they hadn't paid him for the job or something, cannot remember the whole deal.

Deafening silence from Mr. Lundin on that whole debacle, and I believe he has pumped the stock before. Must be one of the worse Lundins in the family since I keep hearing so much good stuff from the other Lundins who actually operate in the sector.

Dollar has been resting on a very big support and gold against a big resistance at these highs and dollar is starting to inch it's way up.
It's very likely they'll both backtrack a into opposite directions for a while until they have another go at these supports and resistances.
And there has been a historical trend of gold getting fucked for few months before the recession or depression really hits.

Dollar up... but future for rates is down. Will be fascinating to see if the miners stay above the Q3 2022 lows.

Recall that in Q4 2008 the recession had not fully hit, the dollar was strong, the S&P was halfway thru its drawdown... but the miners began to rally. If the markets are begin to sniff out big rate cuts and more easing (lower tax receipts, unemployment support etc) then that puts a floor under the miners, as happened in late 2008. The miners, shitty cyclicals as they are, rallied hard despite shit massively hitting the fan everywhere.

>Dollar up... but future for rates is down
liquidity crisis fears it seems. Seems like the market expectation is that rates will be decreased as a response to something going badly wrong in the economy. So USD demand would remain high even while rates are being cut.

Yes, I did a lot on ****orse, too, from examining his old projects with Kent to chronicling his repeated declarations of imminent production and ore shipment.
Reading the technical reports, financial statements, MD&As, proxy statements, prospectuses, filing statements, etc., is the only way to conduct proper DD on these companies. Websites, presentations, brokerage analysis, paid promoters, social media pumpers, etc., should never be trusted. They are useful only in that they indicate the type of audience to whom the company is trying to sell paper. If I see picrel associated with any company then I can assume it is trying to transfer bags to the dumbest of dumb money.

First of all, Tourmaline's P/E is 5. Secondly you shouldn't look at P/E with these companies. Capital intensive business and cyclical too, so P/E offers a bad metric. You need to remember that P/E is always one year backward looking so when you're in the current atmosphere where natty has dropped off a cliff and been beaten to the ground, these companies that produce natty in North America will get kicked in the nuts which will show in future earnings reports and subsequently P/E ratios.

Now I haven't had time to look at all of these companies yet because it takes more than P/E to judge an o/g company. I need to know their netbacks; gross sales prices per unit; minimum all-in operating costs per unit (including OPEX, royalties, transportation, G&A); hedges; CAPEX; production numbers; liquids weighting; balance sheet; and their plans going forward.

For all I know, SM Energy could lose be losing money right now because I have not looked into the company. So I cannot say whether SM Energy is a better or worse buy compared to Tourmaline. Tourmaline is a much bigger company and bigger companies tend to earn a bit of a price premium though. Tourmaline attracted me because of its strong balance sheet and access to credit; good market access (able to sell some to LNG benchmark prices for example, premium price); good margins and cashflows; generous dividends; and satisfactory hedges in place. Furthermore Tourmaline is increasing production by about 40% going into 2028E which I like because I am bullish on North American natgas thanks to improved market access.

And Pieridae Energy is at 0.5x P/E. Lots of natty producers with seemingly low valuations at the moment. But P/E is not enough so I have to look at each of these companies in depth to actually begin to understand whether they are safe to hold through these natty lows.

No problem. Also forgot to add that I also want to know the company's corporate decline rate (if possible); reserves; reserve life index; and finding, developing and acquisition costs per unit (and recycle ratio). To understand how sustainable their operations are so that there are no sudden CAPEX increases or production fall off, and to see how much the company has to pay in order to keep reserves up while they get depleted. A recycle ratio below 1 means that they are depleting their reserves and that could be bad in the long run.

I took a quick look at SM Energy's Q1 report just now btw. They are earnings negative but still cash flow positive even after divvies and buybacks, so that's an encouraging sign. But still the Q2 reports are going to look much worse than the Q1 reports this year so a deeper dive will be necessary.

I think most of the baggies left. Poster counts seem to have dropped since /cmmg/ decided that was a scam.
Not that it necessarily ever was a scam. Nor was it necessarily ever a great investment. Posters at the time still hadn't learned that what /cmmg/ says about a company is meaningless. You saying it's a scam doesn't make it so. Silverminer anon saying it's a great investment doesn't make it so. In reality it's probably neither a scam or a great investment.

Looks like the CRB index is still slowly digging lower.
I've been eyeing that 0.618 or 190 level as the lowest possible retracement point and I still think it's going to slowly go there.
I put a fractal of the first climb from 2000 and 2002 retracement bottom to the highs there and it fits pretty nicely and agrees with that general region as the pullback.
And I really hope we do go there, because it would basically be another 2020 type possibility to get into basically anything commodity related for really major gains.
This fractal means that we're a bit earlier into this than we might think and the gains potential is still insane from a big pullback.

>>54936710

No one truly lost a cent, because we can all be happy that any invested money has gone to good cause, supporting a fun lifestyle of fucking ladyboys.
When you provide happiness for someone your wealth is never lost.
Not that I have invested a cent into that mess so I'm speaking in behalf of everyone else who invested and I know they'd agree with the sentiment.

>>54937595

However we could also throw in a fractal from after the 2002 retracement there and it would look like this, which would mean pullbacks are done and we're just going a bit sideways and then straight up without any interruptions.
We'll see if these meme lines play out, but it's interesting putting them up there to see where it could go.
Personally I'm on the bigger pullback possibility, because if and when the markets get fucked and demand gets destroyed, everything is going to pull back hard, especially commodities.
I also recall that these were the same time frames Andy used to throw around in his uranium thesis year ago and wasn't sure about which leg we were on. The first pullback being done or that being behind us.
If it's option 1, we have at least this year of declining prices and time to fill our bags once more with really cheap shares before the real bull market starts and I really hope that's the case.

I never thought you contacted Tonto or Karen, and your threats to contact them had nothing to do with Red selling the top or me asking wtf gram was trying to accomplish with some seemingly bad decisions. I don't hate your guts, I don't think anyone here does.

I've been in a similar relationship situation before, but as the cheating husband, not the mistresses boyfriend. When that happened to me, my wife knew about my mistress and didn't care because she was tired of having sex with me, the mistress loved having sex with me, the wife and the mistress were best friends, and the wife and 'my' mistress also had sex together sometimes. In fact when the wife and I finally divorced, she took off with 'my' mistress.

the only one who wasn't aware of the situation was my buddy, who dated my mistress without realizing. I didn't hate him for that, she's hot and single and not really mine. I didn't hate her for that, I was having sex with more than one woman, I couldn't demand that she not have sex with other men.

I don't know your situation exactly, and it is a dangerous situation, but hopefully neither of them hates you because you didn't know what was going on. It's not your fault, and it's possible that you're the only one out of the 4 in the relationship that got lied to.

In real life if you ever get to have sex with a woman you'll find she's had sex with other men before. She will likely have sex with other men after she's done with you. And there's a pretty good chance she's having sex with other men while she's with you.

also when you get around a bit you'll find yourself sometimes wanting to have sex with women that have boyfriends, and maybe even husbands. And if your sex drive is stronger than your morals you will very probably go ahead and do it. This doesn't make you a cuck. It probably makes you a man-whore.

I suspect none of this is anything you'll ever have to worry about. People that don't have sex can easily pretend to hate something they've never been offered.

>ask how relying on trust isn't a confidence game (con). Answer- it just isn't, ok
>ask why Ocean and not some local toll mill. Answer- big name prestige
>ask how big name prestige makes me money. Answer- investors love it
>Point out that ore sorter doesn't make concentrates. Answer- YOU'RE A LIAR!!!!!
>Point out that ore sorter doesn't use new X-ray magic. Answer- crickets
>Ask why they're not selling muck piles. Answer- they're waiting on the price of metal
>Ask why they're not mining at a loss instead of not mining at an even bigger loss. Answer- they're saving the metals for higher prices
>Ask why they said they're mining in 2018 and nothing happened. Answer- things got in the way
>Ask why they need a new mill when they already have one. Answer- state of the art new equipment
>See new mill, laugh my ass off
>Predict they're going to have trouble with wastewater permits and tailings disposal
>Couple days later they're having trouble with wastewater permits
>Announce they plan on selling tailings as construction material. I again laugh my ass off.

I've always agreed with you that it's probably a scam. I suggested it was probably a scam to silver a few times and he assured me nobody could be that evil, certainly not a sincere australian bloke in a cowboy hat.

I came very close to buying it anyways, because even a scam can make a person some money. But that thing about selling their tailings as construction material was over the top for me. That was just funny. Not even investor bait anymore, just a bare hook.

I didn't know that, but it makes sense. If they trust you with explosives they should trust you with anything. Personally I think military veterans should be given a pass in civilian life just because they handled worse stuff and did fine with it.
I have to pass background checks but that's true of anyone working for the feds. My record is a bit dirty, but not bad enough to ever keep me from passing. The worst stuff I ever did was before I joined the corpse, and it wasn't enough to keep me out then.

Blind belief, autism and retardation don't combine to make a good investor. Silver jew and the Cult of the Horse was mostly a product of all three. It started off as a half baked investment thesis and ended up as ever more hopium-fueled coping as it became more clear by the day that not only was the thesis around silver flawed, the company was also either utterly incompetent or more likely just a lifestyle company; a scam in essence. Those that had swallowed the hook, line and sinker were in too deep in their own bullshit. It wasn't just an investment to them anymore; it turned into a matter of ideology. After all, the evil banksters were out there and anons could show them what for if only they kept buying more silver and Bayhorse! Many invested relatively big sums of money and were pretty much all in. Denial was the first response to any level-headed criticism, and personally I remember being called a kike and an "Eglin shill" and whatnot any time I attempted to have a proper discussion.

On another note I find it a bit ironic that /pmg/ suddenly became very puritan about only being about physical precious metals and the Silver Jew being the one who made the first /cmmg/ threads. /pmg/ being the sub-80iq rock collecting hub where they fap to anime figures next to coins and bars and many of the most ardent supporters of Bayhorse also being today's /pmg/fags ended up being so analblasted about getting BTFOd by junior mining that they would not accept it in any form anymore. It all was a nice combination of factors that lead to the creation of this general. I had tried to make a commodity general before a few times myself but to no interest whatsoever, but all it took was a group of retarded grugs ousting an incredibly autistic gullible junior mining speculator. I then tried to improve the general's OP copypaste but wasn't able to change much because fags wanted their jewtube confirmation bias links so those are still there.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Oil-Gas-Drilling-Activity-In-US-Sees-Largest-Single-Week-Drop-Since-Mid-2020.html
rig counts and drilling declines are finally showing up in the numbers. With the current prices, I wonder how many companies are pissing their pants right now. If a fracked well isn't profitable in the first six months it's possible it won't be profitable at all due to the high decline rates. Rig counts are still much lower than they were pre-coof though. I am bullish longer term but short term I could see producers trade lower. Oil and gas prices may have bottomed out though... we'll see, demand woes remain pertinent. Overall I think right now is not a bad time to start taking positions with the caveat that the market could bless us with even lower prices.

here's some charts
https://boereport.com/caodc-rig-count/
https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_rotary_rigs
Canada rig count still has lots of room to fall. Back in Q2 2020 when natgas prices bottomed, Alberta rig counts went from 126 in March l all the way to below ten in June before picking up. Now Alberta has 62 rigs. There is always about a month or two of lag in rig counts because it takes time to physically operate them. US rig counts on the other hand were at 793 in March 2020 and fell down to 253 in June that year.

Natgas price (Henry Hub) bottomed around $1.50 in June 2020; and WTI went negative, so those numbers are not really comparable even now that natgas has briefly visited prices below $2/Mcf. But still, oil and natgas have fallen lots and this will most likely be reflected as lower rig counts in the coming month or two -- which may result in higher oil and gas prices due to supply falling. The price is of course a function of supply and demand though, and so it's hard to say whether this really is the bottom. But it's not a bad time to bet on it so I have been a buyer recently.

Finland was actually originally the owner of the project, Sibanye started investing into it a few years back and now holds like 80% of it. Just a month or three ago one of Finland's state owned companies increased their holding. We Finns seem to be all for battery metals. We will also be building large battery factories on the West coast. Generally speaking Finland is an excellent jurisdiction for mining companies and the government supports mining. We have a straightforward mining legislation. There has been some political will to improve the mining laws to increase locals' say in matters and get some bigger share of the profits but I have not followed the discussion much. But the country is supportive of investment from abroad.

That too of course, good point. The Alberta wildfires have forced companies to shut down operations and that extends beyond rig counts too. But would you drill a well that was guaranteed to lose you millions of dollars? The price has a great if delayed effect on rig counts. It just takes a month or two for the rig count to follow price action. Quite a few wells simply become uneconomical to drill at these prices, and if the well is fracked as they tend to be nowadays, the high decline rate means that if the well isn't profitable in the first 6-12 months of hydrocarbon flows it most likely won't turn profitable at all.

It's spooky fuckin' shit to even dip toes into, but the 2 recent spikes (fire day and rig count day) show promise that it's somewhat relatively easy to make some decent little bumps at any point now.

The thing that gives me conviction to buy and hold are
>1) buying gas producers that can actually withstand a few years in a bear market
so I'm looking for cash flowing companies that are not trash who have good hedges in place or who have higher netbacks thanks to either better gross prices per unit or simply lower costs per unit (and who have pristine balance sheets, access to credit, all that financial flexibility and jazz)
>2) that rig counts in the US have stayed consistently lower than they were pre-coof
of course, there is less growth coming from Texas though, but it's still a bullish sign that production hasn't come back to previous levels. There has been lots of big rig count swings in Canada and if you take a look at the BOE Report chart for Canadian rig counts on a longer term time frame, it seems like there is an uptrend forming as there is simply so much extra production that can be brought on stream in Canada (which is why I am focusing on Alberta producers first) -- this brings me back to
>3) improving infrastructure
better market access creates demand for all that immense supply that's been flooding the NA markets in the past. LNG facilities, pipelines, switching coal plants to natgas plants. All of this is going on and it will have an effect on the price. The arbitrage between NA gas versus gas prices globally around the world will close, if not entirely then at least it will get closer.

I covered this previously. The cheap brown IBS sand has hindered flows costing six figures per site. There's a company that's refracking. Calfrac I think. They send a smaller tube down to bust up the clogging IBS and sending down NWS. Check archives please for calfrac so I'm not posting the same old shit over and over.
700 ish holes in the Permian. If a 1/4 of those have this issue that's a billion dollars of uncapitalized production. Huge. Mega.

If anyone wants to help find holding companies or whatever, wherever to buy up raw land that could be sold off to be mined for NWS later this could be life-changing gains not even memeing.
Fuck mining and working a mine when you can sell off minerals or tracks from a section or two of sandstone laden land.

thanks for the info frac chad. Always interesting to hear your take as well. I'm not well read on the subject at all but yeah no doubt refracking failed frac wells with proper material should be a very profitable business -- but I would perhaps avoid investing in fracking sand, equipment or services right now when rig counts are falling, though that might just be my bias speaking. After all I'm buying gas producers while the price is in the dumps lol

My point here was more about the raw unprofitability drilling new of low liquids wells at these natgas prices. So if you drill a new well now and the prices don't improve significantly in the next six months, that capital expenditure would quite possibly end up as a net loss; cash flow negative. Only the best producers can remain above the water in an environment like this. If they get a premium for their sales, or if they have lower costs, or strong hedges, or a flexible balance sheet, or lots of tier one drilling locations they will get through this price slump. There are lots of bad companies with bad balance sheets, or low netbacks/margins, or they may be badly managed some other way and those companies will suffer in this current price environment.

part of my "inner equation" as well.
I think I might could somewhat nutshell my present stance as not so much "bullish", but more somewhat less afraid of deeper and deeper dropping. There is enough uncertainty to keep me out of doing true longs, but sporadically bullish swings are seeming relatively safer. I have moving into trying to keep some exposure in as much as possible to be able to catch any rips, and will pour some more into the dips up under initial exposures to boost the reapings from even smallish spikes, with any substantial surprise upsides being considered excellent bonus. I appreciate all of your considerations for mixing into my equations.

BTW

It's me Bob. I got a new id because I stood up I guess idk.
>when rig counts are falling
This is why I like sand. Cheaper to use the same deck to go retrace old holes, get horizontal, etc than to set up and build a new site with a fresh hole. They recover the wastewater but the sand stays down there.
By no stretch of the imagination am I knowledgeable enough to listen to on this subject, or anything else for that matter. But there's tons of info and my take on it in the archives on all this stuff. The sand market is fully consolidated now, maybe even overly consolidated, ripe for these new methods and technologies coming down the pipe (pun intended).
It will become a supply crisis within two years. Think of the weed game: everyone and their mother went for high yield numbers and the supply was so great that the bottom dropped out of the market and pushed less profitable growers out. Oversaturated, the market plummet led to consolidation eventually and the market is slowly recovering in the form of increasing prices from shaking out those weaker hands or less profitable growers along the way which lowered the supply.
This consolidation in NWS sand supply will become pronounced and the rising tide will lift all these boats. Sand is the safest play in Permian production I can find while also having the most potential for gains

Ah it's you Bob! Well I'm always all ears when you're sharing your wisdom as well.
>low costs; same deck; wastewater recovery
I hadn't considered this. Maybe refracked wells are some of the "last men standing" when rig counts fall then? After all if the hole is all drilled already then it wouldn't cost that much to just clean it up and start fresh. Quite smart now that you point it out
>consolidated; supply issue
Hum, that would imply that the whole frac sand / refracking sector is fairly small then? Should we compose a short list of the main players then? It shouldn't be a difficult task methinks.

I haven't had the time to educate myself on those matters yet since I've been more interested in looking at natgas producers especially in Alberta (since there is much more growth in production to come from over there than Texas). Right now I'm only long Tourmaline on that front, that company is just firing on all cylinders. I have yet to find another low liquids producer in Canada that can top Tourmaline in terms of being able to withstand bear markets. They have really durable cash flows and what's even better they're increasing production over the next five years by about 40%. And they should be very capable of paying their divvies even if we remain in a bear market for a year or two.

On the US side I've only looked at Exxon so far, they should do just fine as well but the price doesn't seem as attractive to me as Tourmaline. Granted, Exxon is a more complex company so I would be lying if I said I understood the entirety of their business -- Exxon might just be a better buy right now for all I know

I just did a XOM buy for my son who is in a stocks program in fact. He gets to invest on the program dime and keep the gains at the end which is coming in a few months, and this was our last buy opportunity. I told him that in this market pretty much everything is a dangerous gamble, but during our short decision/buy window oil was for sure in a dip, with some projections of higher prices into Summer, somewhat supported by OPEC+ cuts. We were limited to 141 companies to choose from and that was the best I could do with my limited knowledge of any and all of this. They have a good divy for longs too, but he will only get one payout, I think, for the time we'll be in it. All I am hoping for is for him to gain *something* rather than lose, and am not counting on any sort of "moon" in the least.

Yeah it's really risky to be long in this market right now. At least Exxon is a fairly stable company, or at least as stable as you can expect an oil company to be during a time of high inflation and oil/natgas price volatility. They've got a peerless balance sheet and some of the most robust cash flows in the industry. If the share takes a dip then that's that but their dividend for this year should be well secured, and it's not like the company would go under either. I hope your son won't take it the wrong way if he ends up being down when they're using an arbitrary time frame like that. People should learn to be patient with the markets, I know I've had my lessons by now and I have only been investing for like three years now.

Well the timeframe isn't our choice, the program ends when it ends, but it offered this one last buy before then as a bonus. I told him straight up it's just a gamble and "is what it is", all we get to do is choose which stock and the moment to buy/sell within 3 day windows each.

Bit of a silly program if you ask me, but at least it'll probably teach them kids a little bit about market volatility.

It generally lasts about 3 years total, with 2 to 3 sell/buy opportunities over the span. This last one was just a bonus out of nowhere that it granted.

ahh I see now. That's actually a pretty good program then it seems. The last three years especially have been a real rollercoaster ride so I hope your son has had fun and learned lots. I know I have

oh man, roller coaster indeed. he's gone from being way up for a while to just a little up recently. it gets brutal, but you're forced to hold other than the very occasional sell one/buy new one opportunities, then once you make that trade it's locked in for the remainder no matter what happens. there have been times I told him if it was our choice we would sell specific ones before earnings as the circumstances had changed, and in fact back in Thanksgiving he was at his peak and i told him if we could I would sell all the shit and move it into 3 month treasuries while waiting on stability to return. Didn't expect the Jan/March rally, but absolutely have been expecting rounds of haircuts and worsening conditions as the rate hikes and contractions start affecting earnings reports. well, it's starting pretty good now and not likely to improve till probably around 2025. anyway, it's their dime and our learning on it so is pure blessing in my estimation.
