Bitcoin started off at pennies and is now worth over $25,000 a coin. You missed the greatest financial opportunity you'll ever see in your lifetime. But don't worry, a 100x is still likely over the next 15 years.

Bitcoin only holds value as a hype machine
>hedge against the dollar
>more secure
Hyped up by people who own bitcoin to make its value go up. If bitcoin ever became an actual threat to the dollar it would become banned in the USA because CP was found on the block chain.

Bitcoin is speech and property. You're going to need to set some new precedents to ban Bitcoin. And even if it were done, the ban would be even more challenging than a ban on drugs or internet piracy because there's a potential financial incentive to use it. Good luck banning it, it's gonna be awhile.

Your timeline of comparison is off.

>cars are tangible and have utility
Why would I need an expensive car, when I have perfectly good legs or a horse

>If btc failed, the world would continue
If cars failed in 1910, the world would continue. If btc fails in 2100, all of civilization might collapse

>It's not a store of value
Everything is a store of value. I can stockpile cans, spam emails, animal pelts, e-girl farts, jars of pollution - it has value to someone somewhere. This just returns to utility

Bitcoin failed me in 2017.
It has no feature in which it can fail today, that part you got correct.
When it hits $0 this won't be considered a failure, rather - a correction.

Dumbass, I sold a motorcycle for bitcoin a few months ago. Wtf do you mean no utility?
The thing is, is that most people have no idea what bitcoin really is, but it's the closest thing to real money that humans have ever developed and the fact that it's not tangible is unironically it's best asset. I never have to work again because of bitcoin and I've sold very little of it.
