BRC20s – they finally figured out how to DDoS Bitcoin 24/7 and get the plebs to pay the spam fees

would easily be solved by increasing the block size like satoshi said (not craig, the actual one on bitcoinforum)

Never gonna happen. Core devs are dug in too deep. They'd rather let BTC die than give in to the big blockers.

If BRC20 becomes successful, it doesn't necessarily signal the demise of Bitcoin. In the beginning, listing BRC20 tokens on centralized exchanges (CEXs) might not have the same impact on the blockchain as it did previously, since the exchanges would involve virtual BRC20 tokens. It's worth mentioning that the congestion occurred just before the introduction of BRC20 tokens on gate.io, as people rushed to be the first to participate, ironically undermining BRC20's success by highlighting its unsustainability. Referring back to this particular scenario, where the transition to BRC20 is more gradual and its effects on the Bitcoin blockchain are minimized, miners might be given time to prepare for the influx of new fees and transactions. Concurrently, the development of BRC-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and the transition from the BRC20 standard to the ORC20 standard could take place, minimizing immediate market fear and gradually increasing confidence in the growing potential of the project. Is this wishful thinking? As someone with limited knowledge of finance and crypto, I'd still like to discuss this possibility.Could someone please explain if I am mistaken, and why?

>> No.54923873

The problem is there is 1-2 mb blocksize.

What happenes when there is a full fledged bullrun and BRC-20 token txs increase exponentially? It means 2 things.

1. Exponential increase in the mempool unconfirmed transactions.
2. Exponential increase in transaction costs.

Bitcoin becomes unusable because of shitcoin speculation and the only way to send some around would be by paying exorbitant fees. Things will only get worse over time, the only solution are:
1. Increase blocksize
2. Removal of Ordinals

Both having significant implications.
