JEPI hasn't existed long enough to give meaningful data on that, there are short periods of outperformance and underperformance. However, based on how poorly all the other covered call ETFs performed through the covid lockdown volatility of march 2020, its a safe bet that JEPI will also get slaughtered.

Regardless, you're cherrypicking data and moving goalposts at this point. You can't DCA heavily into anything unless your starting portfolio is zero dollars. IRAs have contribution caps.
The initial comment was the JEPI has massively outperformed. Objectively this is false, it has underperformed the most basic market index on a total return basis

Even in the complete absence of taxes, JEPI still underperforms. But that's not really a fair comparison either. Most of the JEPI shills around here are sitting on it in a basic RH account, paying taxes on all growth at ordinary income rates. Their compounding is reduced by 20-40%. Luckily anyone dumb enough to think JEPI is worth holding is probably on minimum wage, so most likely it's on the lower end of tax impact.
