Nice! I love these, not trying to put a weight to what is a make it tier fixes alot of misconceptions people get hung up on. You should take it a step further and make a goals and hobbies tier chart, something like pokemon collecting at the bottom and a true passion for homestedding or other self sufficency at the top. Even within hobbies you have tiers of mindsets from consumers and chumps to hustlers and investers.

Eh, whether you just want to own a home and raise some kids, versus get a farm and big family, versus where you plan to do what... Once you try to put numbers to it you have to account for some anon who can carpentry for a living, then you have to ignore or account for those who can make it by cutting up trees. An idiot with a make it stack will starve before a good man with nothing but his wits. Thats why I like mentality tiers, the first one is the best so far.

If you REALLY need to buy, now isn't a bad time as the market is really hot for silver and premium are very high.

I could present you a trannillion arguments on why silver will go down hard this year, but instead i'll just tell you about Attali.
Attali is a silver overlord, shadow president of France for the past 35 years, and he just wrote on his blog the COMEX collapse is for this summer, and this guy is never wrong, because he's part of the (((ones))) deciding when and how events unfold.
So you will end up regretting big time if you don't buy in May and by July the crash happens.

That said, since it will be uberdeflationary at first before being hyperinflationary, having some cash ready to slurp might be a good idea too. Even for PMs, as institutions will be forced to expand their gold and silver to leverage their paper positions elsewhere, spot will most likely soar for a short period of time.
Imho you should delay your life for a year, buy your silver now, sit on the couch, stay super sharp and sell at the bottom this summer then buy back your silver x2 right after prices are catapulted in the stratosphere. It's not risky, but it wont pay off.

>> No.54901462

And like many complex things in life... The more arbitrary you arrange the tiers the more they actually work in the real world. Conversely, trying to be accurate means following a rabbit hole of details that does only one person any good, if even then its not a hypothetical scenario.

Speaking of which, JP Bullion just warned us that it will soon be illegal to buy silver.
Meanwhile an extra $360,000,000,000 left the COMEX warehouse system the past 2 weeks.
Said silver industrial warehouse complex has zero collateral but mountains of worthless receipts generating 8% yields when the new ones are at 12.5%, and are leveraged up to the triple witches tits, far, far more than in 2008.

No wonder (((they))) want to outlaw buying silver, it's free money until they all crash.
The COMEX collapse will reach it's zenith this summer, probably in July, and will be the worst economic collapse ever witnessed by mankind.

The next few months are our last opportunity at cheapies. We may even get an extra discount as financial institutions all dump their silver (from the COMEX warehouses) to deleverage their positions elsewhere. Tho the discount will probably be very short lived for the physical counterpart.

This is not in my nature to try to pinpoint doom events, but here it's so blatant the implosion is underway that i have to do it. Game is over.

If Pan Man or any other Pan anons are here (guess later, at burger-hours…), I need someone to confirm my theory (or to tell me I'm retarded, should that apply):
Unlike you folks out west, we're not in flood, but we're (finally, after 2 years of drought!) in mid to slighly elevated water levels again. So I can finally look at the flow over some structures that interested me, but that I haven't yet checked out.
That "basin", behind those two boulders (a) now looks rather promising, right? (a) is like the first big obstacle the water hits at this slight inside bend. If anything gets into that basin, it probably stays there. Probably won't hurt to clean it out. (P) is roughly the spot from where I took the lower pic at low water.
I think I posted another shot of this spot a while ago and pan man immidiately pointed in that direction.
also, (b) is some concrete structure with some cracks and lots of moss at the top, peaking out at low water, with some neat riffles left of it. Not really a priority spot, given (a), but probably worth checking out.

>>54904888
Trips of lol, yeah, nope. I severely doubt that they'll do that, and even if, it's got nothing to do with the underlying metal. Though it's probably gonna pump somewhat, since a lot of folks are probably going to fomo in it if (and that's a big if) that happens.
tl;dr:
It's a high risk play and I'd only go for it if I got my Au and Ag covered. But high risk of course almost ruling out going to zero. It is rare and it has uses, so it's always gonna have some high-ish price, but fuck me if I'd gonna have to give a number.
>>54905132
>Yes your right, that point in the flow is a great interruption zone, anything heavy will have to either stop there or nearby. I would for sure also check B spot at low water again after this, its rougher water but could have drop out points too.
Neat. So my thinking was right. Now let's see if the gold also knows that, if the water level drops again. Also would be a nice spot to set up my sluice, next to B there's good drop with low-ish water.
>your gold seems to have traveled a long distance, its rough but flat, its been through a lot to get to you.
Compared to my other findings (see pic), I'd say that's rather not flat, so my guess was that the source is rather close. But it's really hard to tell from my pics, plus, it's all at max 1mm sized, so it's hard to judge the form.

You're misinformed, the value of the Reichsmark was not in the metal value, evidenced by the fact that they stopped making them out of silver shortly after the war and the value didn't plummet to zero. Saying the Reichsmark was backed by silver is dishonest and you're doing it to shill your bags. The Reichsphennigs weren't made of silver, but they were part of the German currency system, which was backed by German labor, not metal.

Bitcoin mining uses more power (which takes work to produce) than many small countries. A bitcoin is evidence (proof) that work was done and stored within the bitcoin (making it a store of value). Just because it's digital doesn't make it any less valid. Ford was going to invent bitcoin but he got meme'd by Ford vs General Motors and ignored by the government.

I agree with you the currency is backed by labor and that creates the value of the metal, which is why metals are good for proof of work. They were able to use those metals at the peak purchasing power because the jews could not devalue their labor through inflation, their metals through commercial paper, or their peoples through the media. It is not misinformed to say they were backed by silver because I literally have silver Reichsmarks. Works proof is metal tradeable as a medium of exchange. They used metal, silver was not the sole thing of course however the most important part tk recognize is that the metal is physical and digitcal coins are a digital iou for that.

My point is that the value of a Reichsmark was in no way related to its silver content. It's nice to make coins from valuable metals to protect against certain things, but it could have been made out of wood and functioned the same so long as it's still possible to protect from counterfeits. A Reichsmark minted in 1944 with zero silver content is worth the same as one minted in 1937 and made from silver in terms of the Nazi era German economy.

I disagree, they were being attacked by international jews in a war so vital resources were diverted. One thing to consider is the half oz coin had a denominations of 5 on it, anywhere else in the world silver (and other metals) were shorted to keep their purchasing power low to keep paper high, rhe US counterparts coin walking liberty was a mere 50 cents. The jews were pissed that the common German people suddenly had the option to exchange their metals for gold, as their metal was now at the peak valuabilty of purchasing power. A Wwii German wooden coin would have had more purchasing power than a metal coin elsewhere simply because the German labor behind it which is why Hitler was right in that a people needs to have their own nation. The jew fears the real value of metals.

All that power and work isn't stored its expended and turned into a digital note. It's not a house, a steel bar, a bale of cotton, art, or even cow shit which at least has a use, its just a digital piece of paper. Bitcoin is not a store of energy value like PMs are. The amount of power it takes to produce a bitcoin can go up and down depending on the price. If bitcoin crashes and miners shut off, bitcoin could be mined for very little power. Gold and silver will always require a certain amount of energy to dig out of the ground and refine. So the metals are good stores of energy value not bitcoin.

Bitcoin is just another fiat currency, so it would be no different than buying one fiat currency with another. The difference Bitcoin has over state issued fiat currency is that it's fully decentralized (unless that Satoshi pulls a fast one). That means the public is monetarily free from the banksters and tyrannical states. It's still fiat shit, but the best of the bad system. Advantage of fiat over trading in precious metals is that it's superior for national and international trade, gold and silver trade only has the advantage on the local level.

Anon, the problem with crypto is that it was a convenient outing for the fed to keep people using the dollar via tangible asset that had no real value outside of discretion which at this point, with what happened to Bankman, it's has been incontriviably proven that the feds know how to track it. Crypto was a good idea. now that a great/greater depression is coming, you physically cant hold it. Even worse, it had no tangible value outside of E-commerce, to which if the dollar goes busto, exactly how are you going to order crap online? In dollars? Using BTC? The banks will collapse, and there wont be anywhere to reliably offload your BTC that will accept it, you couldn't even trade that shit for fiat at that point. Sure, 30-50 grand in fiat, but can you even withdraw any of that knowing that fraction reserve banking is about to rear its ugly fucking head as it does every 8-16 years? Im not fudding you, this is something you seriously have to consider here. The m2 money chart is unsustainable. Also, if you think the FED is going to allow you to trade BTC for Yuan. One was looking around at some river gravel, but only found some old-ish coins and various stuff (mostly nails…) which also occasionally show up in my pans and another was just talking to me, telling me he's detecting around old roman roads and he got some coins and a sword.
Wasn't there some anon round these threads a few months back, detecting at stormwater drains (sp?) that collect all the cities goodies? I think he mentioned jewelry (and guns). Oh, and probably syringes…
Actually, there's some chance to find some jewelry panning too.
Friend of mine was playing in a river with his kid and he lost his wedding ring, since the cold water shrank his skin, so it fell off. He searched for it and found it.
But seems like this isn't a rare occasion. When I was at this spot, some boomer couple chatted me up, and the guy was asking if I already had found some gold, because he lost his wedding ring a few kilometers upstream. So there's probably a notable number of jewelry in any given, accessible river.

Heh that's me, no detecting though you just scoop and run the stuff through a sifting screen then pick out the coins and jewelry. Detecting is great too if you're not a retard and swing in the right spots but I luv me some good old stormwater sewer outflows most of all.

Yeah, it's not for pussies afraid of getting wet and dirty though. Pic is an example of some of the stuff sifted from storm sewers, the 2 gold rings (1 broken) were found within minutes of eachother. For jewelry normally it's rings, earrings and pendants that turn up. The silver gets a bit eaten up by the caustic conditions but is more common than jewelry in old storm drains.

What happened in 1934? The Germans purchasing power drastically increased to the point where a 5 reichsmark half oz silver coin was being exchanged for 2 silver dollars oz (26 grams, this was b4 troy oz were adopted) then translated to gold which the Germans turnes into really nice bars. FdR and jewry were not thrilled about this at all. Hitler destroyed the paper ponzi schemes in Germany.

how is a labor backed currency in real terms any different from other fiat currencies?

>> No.54914041

Germany had no gold at the time due to reparations and thus had no money to do normal economic transactions with. By using fiat instead of gold (that didn't exist in sufficient amounts as it was constantly getting drained by Versailles) there was sufficient liquidity to actually have a functioning economy. The whole "backed by labor" thing was just how they set up the money printer to pay the public works laborers in exchange for actual infrastructure, instead of the bankers in exchange for nothing like in Weimar times.

Oh, and be prepared to be disappointed! There’s a reason gold is so expensive. It’s damn hard to find any substantial amounts. Probably haven’t even recovered the money I did spend for my pan and shovel.
