Robinhood is a commission free stock trading app on iOS/Android

--Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on the cash and securities in Robinhood accounts, much like a bank collects interest on cash deposits and by collecting fees from robinhood gold.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are *** and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-*** for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Good way to read these stocks is to watch the bitcoin market. If bitcoin starts to fall, these stocks will fall. Im all in on cannabis and hemp stocks for 2018. Lot of legislation changes happened over the last few years to set up for some big changes really soon. IGC is a great long imo because they've got a patent on a 0% THC strain of cannabis, making it ideal for industrial hemp and creating the possibility of crop insurance for industrial hemp growers. They're expected to start growing it in May of 2018, and once that crop is harvested at the end of 2018 I expect yuge profits. IGC is another great pick, I just got out of it this morning after the big blockchain PR announcement. US based company doing CBD therapy. The growing leeway given to low THC cannabis grows should benefit their company as well, along with the growing cultural acceptance of medicinal cannabis.

I'm really skeptical about investing in the US Cannabis market. With it still being schedule 1 and a republican controlled government I don't see this taking off. Just too easy for the feds to change their mind and completely destroy your investment. There are other options for lucrative gains, and I'm not saying you're wrong. I would just stick to Canadian pot companies, where they have a liberal at the helm who's going to back this shit.

The company is OraSure Technologies, Inc. (OSUR)

They make a take home HIV test kit.

The governor of California recently signed a law that now if you knowingly pass HIV onto someone it is no longer a felony as of 2018. The law has been dropped to misdameanor.

This is not my usual type of stock, i usually trade based off accumulation/distriubution phases, short interest, fundamentals of shares structure, and basic fundamentals of company. Although I don't usually trade the kind of set up and stock that OSUR is i think it'll have interesting potential for 2018.

On their 10-q it states that they are now shipping this HIV home test to other countries and that sells have been going up.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1116463/000119312517338742/d480771d10q.htm
Pg 20 of their Q

>Net product revenues during the nine months ended September 30, 2017 increased 43% when compared to the first nine months of 2016, primarily due to higher sales of our molecular and OraQuick® HCV products and increased international sales of our OraQuick® HIV self-test.

With HIV testing it takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months for people to develop antibodies to get an accurate test. HIV symptoms come on 3-4weeks after being infected at which time 95% will have detectable antibodies, the other 5% won't

OSUR at home HIV test will be able to test most individuals at 4 weeks but the test still won't be considered conclusive, the person would have to wait 3 months to get a conclusive test from the OSUR at home HIV test.

with this being said, i wen't through the HIV forums that talked about the OSUR at home HIV test, and it appears to me that alot of people that think they might have HIV buy the test at around 4 weeks, test, then again at 6 weeks and test, then again at 8 weeks and test.

Some even go on to say they've bought 5 within a month times to test.

Cont..

There are people that are buying this test left and right just to treat themselfs and also buying the test for others just to be sure.

I became pretty interested in the new HIV law because i live in california and had no idea they had a at home test for HIV

Their revenues are growing and they also have gotten grant money for other product production, grant money typically doesn't have to be paid back.

Bill and melinda gates foundation has given them some money aswell.

Their revenue is already growing and i think it'll continue to grow since they just recently started shipping this test internationally and plus with the new california law and ever increasing population.

there is more in their Q that points to them still growing and it might be a good stock to hold a small portion of in your portfolio.

The market cap is currently sitting around 1.1billion but i think the market cap could get into the 10-20billion range.

I won't continue to go through my findings if you guys aren't interested.

Hopefully some TA specialist in here could help with an entry point because like i said, this isn't the usual type of set up i like to trade but i think this company has real potential for 2018

also they do have other products im just interested in the at home HIV test and how paranoid people buy them up like candy.

Yes but they don't because they don't want to go be seen in a clinic they rather wait around 3 months buying test up and using it rather than go to the damn clinic after a few weeks for blood testing.

I read up on all the forums, when this law changes the gay community which is heavy in california will get a little paranoid and start buying up this product, the company is seeing YOY growth and with international shipping i think they will continue to do so.

Just read some of the forums about HIV testing, some people buy this test every other day due to paranoia.

I don't think it's going to moon, i just think it might be a good hold to have maybe 5% of your portfolio in, it also doesn't pay a dividend but they have a well established product (amongst other productst) and will be having a higher demand (imo) due to the change in laws in california.

I don't care if AIDS are for gays.. im in this to make money, and shit, ill make money off aids patients

this is the point, less competition and BGFV has survived and not only has it survived it is building new stores and growing. It is a well established company that has been around for a long time that not only survived the sports retail down market (due to too over saturating sporting good stores) but is now building new stores and creating a strong foothold for when the market rebounds without much competition.

I can go into so much detail of why BGFV is going to have nice gains next 3-6 months with a dividend and share buyback program in place, but i suggest you read the filings for yourself.

This is why biz went crazy over cryptos. For $100, you can buy at .0000001 and sell at .0000002 and youve doubled your money. More volatility, which is great for kids gambling on xmas money

I miss the days of actual threads on investing, real estate, etc. I love the idea of making/saving/investing and receiving gains enough to the point where I can buy something that doesn't move and just live the rest of my live on a beach getting a check every month

Dividends are exactly what I want, that sit on it and forget it autonomy but the problem I (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that you can't buy a fraction of a share it has to be 1 whole share. The advantage of crypto is that you can sub divide coins. Still though I love dividends and I'm still learning about how to pick good stocks.

-I avoid one's with super high p/e ratios because it doesn't seem sustainable.
-I look for yields around 3-5% for long hold stocks and then do a little research into what the company does.
-I look to see if they have been increasing their dividend to keep up with inflation

What other factors should I be on the lookout for possible healthy dividend yielding stocks?

and what's the best way to figure out if a stock is undervalued?

I use the following for super long holds:
Book value
P/E
Sector performance
Personal opinion on the future of the product/service the company provides

As for swing trades, I use a lot of techs.
MACD
A/D line
RSI

I also buy a lot of penny stocks with no volume but have decent business plans. When you can get in on the ground floor(Do your DD please. It's crucial with stocks but especially with pennies), you can maximize your returns.

For instance, AIRI is one of my favorites and fits the description.
They'll profit off of Trump funding the military.
They continue to get contracts
Cheap and no one knows about it.

When you buy BEFORE they become memes, you are considered smart money. Smart money profits, while schmucks chasing dreams by buying whatever and doing no homework get rekt when the shit crashes.

Put some cash on some promosing pennies. Sell half when they get to 100% returns, because you never know where these companies could be in 2, 3, 4, or 5 years. You'll have made your capital back, built a portfolio, and riding free shares, so the fluctuation of the stock on the day to day won't matter that much.Imagine if they become so profitable that they can afford a divy? the market is cyclical. Tech will fall a bit or remain stagnant and money will flow into something else. The key is finding that something else. I'm thinking short term that it's oil. Find a penny stock related to oil(There are plenty. Trust me). Sit on it.

Last year, I bought LNCO and made a solid profit because they all pumped at once with oil. With crude closing at its best close since 2015(Get CNBC notifications too. Normise tend to buy what cnbc tells them to). These types of notifications are usually indicative of what's to come.(See Bitcoin surge to 20k)

Same anon here I just switched to my mobile.

All good to know, I'm still learning the trading terms but this sounds like a great start. I've only invested in a few stocks on Robinhood (Ford, and one other) so far Ford is the only one that paid me a dividend ($.60/per share) but I was psyched for it. Now I'm looking to go in a little harder but only after I've done my DD. I've also started reading up on Benjamin Graham who Warren Buffet recommended as a means of being able to understand how to better evaluate companies/stocks to see if they are a good deal.

Any authors you recommend checking out? Thanks again for the help.

i get full of rage sometimes :( i feel as if this is all easy to understand and newbs that got lucky their first few months of trading think they know what they are doing but really don't. I know i shouldn't get worked up but im really just trying to help people, the back and forth in here is actually what i think made me a what i consider a decent trader imo.

if it weren't for /rgt/ i don't think i would have learned as much as i do now and that is because i have listened to others that seem to know what they are doing rather than bash them without hearing what they have to say.

There have been many times i've pointed out a stock that i think is going up and some anon says it's going down, tells me why and he ends up being right. then there have been opposite times where it does go up. That guy doesn't seem to want to learn how the game works and it just gets me frustrated. Im just trying to make people some money just as many anons in here have helped me make money
