People always say this, but every time we have a draft 99% of people comply willing. Even during Vietnam most people didn't actually dodge the draft. They just applied one of the numerous exemptions or enlisted voluntarily in one of the safer branches.

The first people to get drafted are always single men aged 20-26. If you're married or have kids, you're most likely be fine, for at least a few years.

It's tough for a civilian to comprehend, but if there is a draft you either comply, get an exemption, or risk being a becoming a felon. Selective Service is already in place, and by virtue of being a male citizen you complied with it alread.
